The first is me trying to make an alien art sona that looks pretty similar to me. Although I enjoyed the designs, I ended up not going that direction with my main sona. I also wanted to give 'em a furry version and a little doodle version so I could really play around with how I use Dippy to express myself!
The second is after I had figured out a solid ugly little design for Dippy, and was planning to use him as the host of my page! I wanted my blog to be Dippy's blog, where he shares all his little fanart and talks about fixing his ship (as a metaphor as me working on moving irl)- but before I could even finish his introductory comic page, I found myself bored and exhausted by the concept. Yeah I kinda bounce around from project to project, so I couldn't see myself sticking to it for long, so a more basic sona and blog fit my ever-changing creative process better! :3
The last image is just a reference sheet for Dippy, but most of the details (such as his human disguise having a dayjob, the design/relationship with his long distance partner, and my own gender/sexuality projected onto him) were no longer canon and I ended up tossing it.
Although I tossed a lot of concepts about Dippy out, and nearly tossed Dippy out entirely, I'm so glad I didn't because he has grown on me like a benign tumor and I couldn't cut him out now <3
