[Nearly jumps at the sound of Frey’s voice, turning around to expect the cute Princess when he sees death staring him at him straight in the eyes] !!! [Clutches at his chest] C-C-Cripes, Frey!Did you really have to sneak up on me like that? [Huffs, cocking his brow upon closer inspection of her costume.] So whaddya supposed to be?
[Before he can reply with his own snarky comment about her being the ghost of two-bit royalty past, she asks him the unexpected— to dance.] ! [Eyes widening, an obvious red blush creeping onto his features.] W-What? Me? You, you’re askin’ me to dance with you?
Why?
!! /steps back in a state of alarm, her hand gripping tightly onto her scythe/ Ah! Forgive me, I'm sorry! I didn't realize that I'd frighten you!
/shifts uncomfortably as Dylas scrutinizes her, a slight rise of pink appearing on her cheeks. However, any sign of embarrassment dissipates as he asks her who she's supposed to be. With her chin up, she waves her scythe in an attempt to look fearful/ I'm Death! /cracks a smile, but manages to stay in character/ Fear me. Or... or else.
And yes, I'm asking you to dance with me. Why? Because I simply want to. But, if you don't, then... /shrugs nonchalantly/ That's okay I suppose. We can just talk, if you'd prefer that.
[Loudly knocking on Arthur's door before speaking out loud enough for Arthur to hear beyond the closed door] 'Oy, Arthur, you in there? Porco sent me with yer dinner so uh-- come get it.
[Arthur glances up from the letter he had been reading when he hears the knocks, startled by the volume. After recognizing the voice, he relaxes a little bit. He didn’t even realize he had been hungry.]
Ah, I’ll be right there!
[Pushing himself back away from his desk, he hurries to his door.]
Good evening, Dylas. [Smiling.] Oh, thank you for bringing it up. [Tucking the letter under his arm, he takes the dish from the other man.] I could have come down…
Was sleeping, a hand over his eyes as he mumbled something about knocking Doug’s head in while in a deep sleep. "M’gonna … push him … … into the wall … SNRK—”
His slumber was interrupted as he felt his pillow being taken from underneath his head and the blanket being ripped off of his body, “!!!” Blearily looking around, expecting Kiel or even worse— Doug. "I’ll fuckin’ knock your head in—" Catches a glimpse of a … woman?
Scrambles out of bed, tripping over himself as he doesn’t even bother to grab his robe, chasing after the woman. “H-Hey— what the hell d’ya think yer doing?” Grabs hold of his quilt, trying to yank it from her grips, “this is mine, ya dumb broad, give it here!”
Not having expected the young man to chase her, given her stature and that really he should be grateful to be chosen by her- to give a gift to a travelling queen. Some people were just so undeserving of her attention.
He was being fairly aggressive, and it would be a lie to say she wasn't a bit frightened.
Raising an eyebrow at his words she makes fierce eye contact with him, trying to contain a silent chuckle at his state of undress. Yanking it back she inwardly groans, knowing the periwinkle haired, very muscular, man wasn't going to make this easy.
"..."
Letting the pillow drop to the floor she places one hand over Dylas', uncurling his fingers from the quilt and squeezing it gently, giving him a solemn nod before trying to leave again.
[Had just finished taking a customer’s order, turning around to find a young woman] … ? [Listens to what she has to say before thrusting a menu that he had taken from the previous customer at her] Pick a table, I’ll get to you when I get to you. [Sighs in a dramatic manner, rolling his eyes as if her question was such a burden—] Try being less vague and maybe I might.
[The menu he handed to her so forcefully, shocked Lumina, who jumped backwards and watched as it swiftly hit the ground] Oh, uh sorry... Well, his name is Jack...? He's a farmer, a farmer from Forget-Me-Not Valley. You've heard of him, right?
[Staring at him for a second, she continued going on but his twitching (ears?) and irritated expression quickly silenced her. Giving him a nervous glance she picked up the menu and sat at one of the tables he had directed her to, burying her head in the menu, trying not to call attention to herself]
[Considering leaving while he wasn't looking she glanced at the door and made a break for it, slowly tip-toeing away, hoping that his conversation with another customer would take up just enough time for her to leave -- ]
Why was he even there? Honest to Gods, he had to reason to be seeing her other then the lingering feeling that perhaps he actually /wanted/ to see her? Preposterous. Standing at her bedroom door, he knocked quietly-- there was no answer. "Well, I tried" he mumbled, turning on his foot and preparing to leave.
It was late in the afternoon when someone knocked on Frey's bedroom door, so quietly that it would've gone unheard had she not been shuffling silently in her closet, changing into a much more comfortable outfit than her usual.
She called out a muffled "I'll be right there!" as she slipped her belt over her head, quickly skittering to the door afterwards. However, when she opened it, she was greeted by a lean back and a swaying tail instead of a friendly wave and a "Hello," like she'd been expecting. Her brows furrowed, and she opened her mouth to voice her confusion:
Selena let out a tiny groan. Well, she couldn't find flowers. Maybe she'd just buy him dinner. She hoped under her breath he didn't have expensive taste.
Porcoline's kitchen, huh? She peeked at the sign, raising an eyebrow. Vaguely she wondered what kind of person this Porcoline could be...
She rubbed the back of her neck as she wandered into the restaurant, peering around to try to see if she could find him...
Selena strolled over to the counter, looking around. Was anyone even... around?
"Dylas!♥" Popuri chimed, running over to the tall man and wrapping him up in a big hug. Nuzzling her head on his chest, she murmured with a smile. "Hi again."
The periwinkle-maned man sighed gruffly in reaction to her gesture. "Popuri... what are you doing?"
The pinkette pulled her head back, her lips forming a small pout. "It's called a hug and usually this is the part where you hug me back." Bringing her head back to his body and closing her eyes. "So go on."
Dylas hesitated for a moment before wrapping his eyes tightly around the small girl. "Alright..." He grumbled, running his fingers through her bubblegum pink hair. It was soft and he could lightly smell how sweet it was.
When he tightly embraced her small figure, the girl was just a bit surprised. Usually it took him longer to hug her back and she would have to pout a lot more before this point. So this was.. nice. It was really nice and she wanted it to last. Being with the, at times, grumpy man had become something she yearned to have. Eating at the restaurant, walking through the forest, or even watching him fish. Just having him as company made her feel like she was in a fairytale.
Then he gently pushed her away and held her by the shoulders. His amber eyes latching onto the gaze of her wide, scarlet ones. "Why are you doing this, Popuri?" He asked, breathing out through his nose.
"Dylas... What do mean?" She furrowed her brows in confusion, not understanding what he meant by why. Wasn't that obvious at this point?
Not breaking the connection of their eyes, he furrows his brows back at her. "I'm not like you... I'm some grouchy, horse-man and you're--"
"I'm what, Dylas? What am I exactly?" Popuri shook her head, not looking away from him for a second. "I don't care if we're different... You bring me into a world that I've loved for years. You make me smile and laugh." Reaching up, she gently touches his cheek and smiles fondly. "Don't you understand how I feel?"
"I..." The taller man's cheeks burned pink with embarrassment before nodding his head silently. "I just want you to be sure. Will you really be happy with me?"
Popuri giggled delightedly, the corners of her eyes tearing up a little. "I already am happy, silly! You're my fairytale, Dylas. And I love you. Grouchiness and all!" She didn't think she'd ever be able to feel this way. To let go of someone else she'd loved for years felt so... so--
So right.
"I--" His face even a darker hue, he quickly lifted up the pinkette, spinning her around while holding her close to him. She held onto him, feeling herself get lifted off the ground and into his embrace. "I love you too..." He murmured so softly, that only Popuri could hear him.
"Sorry, what was that?" She asked teasingly, being selfish for a moment.
"Sh-Shut up!" Dylas stammered, his ears twitching in a flustered fashion. But as Popuri pulled back her head he brought his lips to hers and kissed her longingly. She returned the kiss-- her first kiss-- and tangled her fingers through his hair. Breaking the kiss for a moment, the man murmured lowly. "Did you hear me now?"
Selphia, though not quite her tastes, was lovely. Perhaps she'd made the right choice in going for a little bit of a business trip. A tour, you could say. A few travelling musicians had propositioned her, and she had gladly accepted. Though she would be back in Harmonica before she knew it, it was a welcome vacation.
And there was a castle, a big, beautiful, shining castle smack dab in the middle of the town. It took her breath away that such things could still exist.
This was where they set up. When she heard the drum beat start, her heart matched it, and within moments she was dancing throughout the square, the perpetual smirk on her lips and in her eyes as she watched the small crowd form. It would get bigger or smaller throughout the day, but regardless it was worth it to see the faces of the people, in awe of the way her hips moved, her hands twirled, her outfit jingled, and her gaze never faltered. She clapped her hands above her head and gave a bow as the first song ended, and there were a few stunned claps from the crowed, and a few people tossed some coins into one of the instrument cases. The first tips of the day. She thanked them softly, and began the next dance... and the next.... Only taking a break when all of them finally needed a breath, and she sighed happily under her breath, resting a hand on her hip and flicking the other through her hair to toss it out of her face.
