Time to Unwind [Ash/Popuri]
“A church?”
Cranking his head back, trying to catch whatever glimpse of it he could. All that poked out above the roofs of the seaside town’s buildings was a lone bell tower, but he guessed it naturally belonged to it. Huh. Well that’s something. He wondered why he didn’t notice it before?
“Alright, I’m game. Let’s head up.”
The sea breeze was nice, and he’ll admit to getting a bit distracted by the way it caused her pink hair to flutter about her. At one point, he almost reached out to brush it away from her face, but somehow managed to keep his hands to himself.
Once the church finally came into view, he raised his eyebrows in awe, nodding along to her words. “Yeah, it is. Bet the local’s really appreciate the location.” It had a nice courtyard too, the grounds encircled by trees and benches.
There was movement behind him, and he frowned in confusion. “Uh, Popuri, what’s the matter?” She was cowering behind him in a manner not unlike Cheryl would do at times, but she sounded legitimately concerned, so it was best to treat it seriously. Even if he didn’t quite understand. “Is… what coming toward us?” Ash asked, trying his best to keep the flabbergasted tone out of his voice. There didn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary up here….
The pinkette was frozen, afraid to look at the large dog roaming around the area. Why couldn’t it have been a small dog or maybe a cat? She could have handled that, really she could have. Ash’s reaction made her whine a little and she shuffled in place. “Y-You don’t see it??” She whimpered softly, taking a deep breath before peering around her human shield.
Right as she was able to see into the distance, she saw the beast sitting, just staring at them. “Th-th-there!!” She squeaked, hiding behind Ash again but using one of her hands to point out towards the large dog. “The dog!” She sighed, trying to calm herself down. Ever since that time she just couldn’t handle being around them. What if she got too comfortable and it ended up attacking her? The pinkette didn’t want to risk it.
“I-I’m afraid of big dogs like that...” She murmured, bring her free hand down to grab onto Ash’s hand. A bit of embarrassment was bubbling inside of her and it felt like she was young again, hiding behind Rick from any big dog they happened to come across.
