And so, another annual tradition has wrapped: BRIC Jazz Fest. Didn’t get to shoot it all like the previous 3 years (I’ll talk about that later), but I got in where I fit in terms of production. As far as being mainly a fan in the audience this time around, it was fun! I enjoyed @officialmeshell set, especially her cover of Al Be Sure’s “Nite & Day.” However, it’s in my blood to be an artist, and I’m grateful I’ll be able to share two video projects with you soon. And there you have it! Year 3 of Brooklyn Media Maker Weekend is a wrap! I missed day two and three posts, so hears a recap to the whole thing; 72 hours of free workshops & panels on various styles of storytelling. Pitching shows, street photography, screenwriting, community journalism, improv, a wonderful Keynote from @crownpeace, and capped it Off with a screening and audience talk on “Crooklyn.” When I came up with this weekend four years ago, I had a grand vision of it. We are closer than ever. Glad to not only help provide service to the community of artists and filmmakers, but to express and inspire my own self to grow as an artist.
