Yes I am a cripple punk but I am also equally a disabled princess. Pretty dresses and punk jackets included.
And even though I'm aware of this I'm still somehow surprised that everyone in public stares at me 24/7 and I get upset by it. Yes I'm wearing a beautiful dress, there are flowers in my hair, yes I'm in a wheelchair too, don't fucking stare it's not for you. I'm not a zoo exhibit. I'm not exotic. Glance at me if you want, compliment me if you want, but don't fucking gawk at disabled people or any people for that matter thanks. Last time this happened so many people stared at me I felt the need to cover my drink while at a concert.
“I hope that someday, there will be a disabled princess. As a 21 year old who loves to act and tries to do singing lessons, and has cerebral palsy that affects my voice, it would mean the moon and the sun to me to voice the first disabled Disney princess.
“I am still waiting for my disabled princess. And no, Elsa does not count. A disabled princess's disability should be confirmed and stated within the movie so there is no question without a doubt that they are disabled, that young disabled kids know that princess is theirs (and abled kids won't try to push disabled kids out of liking them or wanting to be them because they don't look like them.) It doesn't count when a director uses twitter to try to score some diversity points.”
