one word prompts — caring // @disarraycd
Lorna had assured him that Alex was okay, and Scott knew she wouldn’t lie to him. The fight was over, the casualties were kept to a minimum on both sides, and Alex was okay. Scott knew all of these facts individually, but... Some things, you just needed to see for yourself.
For years, he’d been separated from Alex. He’d always known his brother was all right during that time, had understood that Alex had been adopted out by a nice (albeit human) family (one that Sinister had assured Scott hadn’t wanted him), but he’d always had that aching feeling in his chest all the same. It was the same now. He knew Alex was safe, he knew he was okay, but he needed to see him. He needed tangible proof.
So he was here, in front of his brother’s door, ready to knock. Scott’s brand of caring always fell somewhere between cold and suffocating, depending on who was on the receiving end. Sucking in a deep breath, he knocked at the door and shifted as Alex answered it. “Lorna said you wore yourself out,” he said in way of greeting. “I wanted to make sure you were... That you didn’t need anything.”
