Do you have any tips or a guide for describing art/music/subjective things?
With art I start by conveying what technique is being used - does it use a lot of warm tones? Are the lines neat or scratchy? Are the colors bright or desaturated? Then I will write up a short description, and draft it to come back later to review what I wrote before. (Personally I'm really bad at noticing detail so it does take me 5+ times checking it back over - I'm working on one now that has 5 antique textiles with detail close-up pictures included, and I did 5 sessions just on the first one. It's going to take me a while to finish. But I know I'm bad at details and I want to get it right.)
With music, unless there's something interesting as a focal point, a few words can get the point across. Upbeat vs slow, haunting, hard rock, that kind of thing. Context can also help, esp with background music, like maybe it sounds like bouncing circus music, or creepy scratchy violins like in a horror film. That plus the genre usually gets the point across.
If it's truly subjective I will say something like "seeming to bring across the idea that X" or something similar. I don't like to state an opinion as fact in a description, but typically the symbolism will be trying to say something.
Hopefully this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
