imagine meulin teaching kanaya sign language so she can communicate when she's in a non-verbal mood, and it would also help with kanaya's hearing problems. and if others learned, they could talk to her easily without her having to be really close or straining to hear from far away.

! ! !!!!! ! wow yes! it strains her hands sometimes because of her carpel tunnel (kanaya honey you are falling apart) but it helps sooo soso much in her comprehension to read asl rather than hear with her apd and hearing loss, and being able to sign even some of the time when shes nonverbal is a huge plus

headcanon: when alphaverse dave was a kid, he ended up breaking something in his leg while trying to do some radical parkour move. it ended up messing up the growth plates there and he never got taller than 5'1.5". imagine that tiny grumpy director.
