I haven’t posted anything of substance here in a while. And things are just crazy enough that bullet-list self-pep talks are where it’s at. Maybe you’ll find something here that helps you, too. Or inspires something that will.
Worrying gets you nowhere, but it’s how you’re wired. You can work on it, but a certain amount of that anxiety just is what it is. Observe, accept, and let it go.
SLOW DOWN! For the love of God, woman, so many things could be avoided if you just slowed down and paid attention to what you’re doing. HOW MANY times do you have to endure this before you finally learn the lesson?
No more putting off the healthy eating and exercise. You’re 43 and in prime position for health problems if you don’t do something about this NOW. Reduce the sugar - A LOT - and start eating more veggies, fewer carbs. It won’t be easy. So you’ll do a trial-and-error thing, you’ll figure it out. But no more excuses, no more “I’ll cut back tomorrow”. It happens now. Even if it’s just small steps, and even if you trip up and make mistakes, just keeping going. You can’t gamble with your health like this anymore.
Remember: it’s just food. It’s just something sugary. If you can’t find something healthy for a snack, then you’re really not that hungry. Drink some water and do something physical. If you’ve eaten breakfast and lunch then you’re not that hungry, you’re just bored/anxious/distracted.
You have to find a way to sleep even when there’s noise. This being awake at 4am is bad for so many reasons. While you’re at it, figure out how to sleep on your back. This sleeping on your side/face shit isn’t cutting it anymore.
Write more. Even if it’s just a scribble on an index card. Get ideas and thoughts out of your head. Write even when you’re blocked and all your ideas seem like crap. Just keep writing, like breathing. It’s THAT vital.
Before you buy/order something, think if you really, really need it. You probably don’t, and you’d be so much better served using/appreciating what you already have.
Be nice! Compassion and understanding are the biggies here. Focus on your own work, stay in your lane, girl. Focus on your own stuff.
Appreciate all you have, and express gratitude every chance you get.
Happy Friday, kittens! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
