thoughts on helly supposedly not having a lunch in the lumon fridge/helena's food issues ??

i’m agreeing with the crowd here that helena limits her own food intake on the outside as a way to regain a feeling of control. it seems likely she has had very little control over her life, so limiting food may give her back a sense of power over one small portion. and after severing she has even less control! even if this was an old habit that died out, i can see how it could have manifested again after everything she is going through atm.

but does she withhold lunches from helly? there was this one interview with either britt or a costume designer with a question about the yellow defiant jazz dress. they said something like: helena wore this after the hanging as an attempt to cheer helly’s mood. between helly cutting her forearm with glass, threatening to chop her fingers, and the hanging.. helena is terrified of helly! it’s possible that helena didn’t want to return to the severed floor after the hanging, similar to her reaction post ortbo. but she did return. and a day (a couple days?) later she dressed her in the yellow dress to cheer her but also maybe comfort and pacify her. subdue the violence that’s bubbling under the surface. so.. i don’t think she’d risk upsetting her by withholding her lunch. i think helly has some power over helena. and she’s shown that she’s not afraid to exert it. so helena is like: feed her anything idc anything to make her not kill me. lmao

maybe helly’s lunch wasn’t in the fridge because she tossed it uneaten in order to fuck with helena by going up the elevator starving! s1 helly is full of rage and unafraid of pain.
