a narrow alley. dark and dingy. the flickering neon sign of an obscure tattoo parlor still opened in wee hours was the only shining beacon to irradiate the way to those who lurk in the night. flashes of carmine illuminated her figure. she sometimes sparkle when the lights hit her glittery dress just right. lithe steps halted and her heels turned to face the familiar voice. “i’m looking for an adventure,” she mused, lying through her teeth that perhaps she has gotten herself lost on her way back to the party after playing around with a human, in which she eventually discovered that such person resembled a lackluster wall instead of a sinful flesh she can devour. pride. lilith was so full of it. nonetheless, it took her by surprise that the ruler of the underworld appeared before her in this realm. now that she thought about it, she was too enamored about the mortals and their blasphemies that announcing her presence to some of her good friends who currently roam the earth like her seemed to have slipped her mind. the taste of desire and desperation of the humans was too sweet, so addicting. hanging around the living has yet to pale in comparison with the dead. she left her post and stepped into the shadows to approach her closest confidante, reaching out a hand to cast a gentle caress at the deity’s face. “hades, darling, it’s been a while,” her crimson-stained lips curled into a fond smile. “i thought you’d still be down there once i return, but alas, i lost track of time. i hope my sudden absence did not hinder you from your duties.”
