Yesterday, Sheila, John and I talked about setting up a camping trip where we can tell spooky stories around the campfire, eat s’mores and just hang out.  Brian will be joining us and Sheila and John are setting it up outside Sheila’s farm.  I’m so excited!  I haven’t camped since I was a kid!

I’m really looking forward to this road trip to Chicago to find my Dad. I looked into this night club he works at. Apparently this club he works at does drag queen shows. I don’t know why he would work there, but I guess I’ll find out.

I am very nervous about meeting him after he left when I was 10. I am worried he may not want to see me. Jasmine thinks he’ll be happy to see me. I love that she’s willing to bring me there and be my emotional support. Jasmine is such a great friend.

So we’ll have to get fake IDs and have a cover story. Bender said he knows a guy who does fake IDs. It’s great that I can count on him to help us get in. (Maybe we’ll bring him and Brian to the casino to gamble afterwards—plus Brian has a fake ID already.) My fake ID might need an update since it’s from when I lived in Michigan. Plus we’ll need to use fake names to get into the club since Jasmine’s grandpa might get pissed if he finds out that we went to a drag show. Gramps would probably do the same. Although he won’t tell me why my Dad left. (That is kinda weird). I have to know why my Dad left without saying goodbye or giving any explanation.

Since both of our grandpas are friends, the old “I’m staying at my best friend’s house” isn’t gonna work. So we’ll probably ask Allison to cover for us. We’ll see how that goes.

I gotta look into times for the shows in case we have to make reservations.

My First Game Jam Discord Server: Using pronouns and mentorship roles

In the My First Game Jam server, roles can help you reach mentors with experience in certain skills, engines, or programming languages. If you are willing to mentor, you can add mentor roles to yourself to get a notification when a jammer has a question that you may be able to answer.

In addition, you can add your pronouns as roles to your profile. If you don't see your pronouns listed, let us know and we will add them!

This jam, we are introducing Roleypoly as a way of managing roles. Go to the My First Game Jam Rolepoly page and connect your Discord account. Choose roles to add to yourself and hit save.
