Reminder that being fat is awesome and drawing fat characters is awesome!
I'm all for curating your online space, but I think that blocking too liberally can create an echo chamber that will poison you.
Idk I think it's good to actually listen to the perspectives of people who are on the "other side" of discourse sometimes. You don't have to like what they're saying. But it's good to remind yourself that you can still be in community with people that you disagree with.
If nothing else, it can be a good practice in distress tolerance. You should be able to see an opinion that annoys you and move on without engaging. If that's difficult for you to do, then it's even more important that you try!
I fucking hate the newgens of the mcyt fandom i'm gonna be real honest with you, specifically pinterest and like the life series fandom there. I have to be a hater right now but ugh. it gets on my fucking nerves. I'm tired of constant boundaries discourse and arguing because people don't understand how fandom works. you are so paranoid about up close and personal boundaries and whine whenever you see something "icky" on ao3. grow the fuck up or LEAVE
If you're ever like "this product is useless, I can do that all by myself", please take a moment to stop and think "could there maybe be someone out there who can't do that all by themselves?". If yes, the product may be fine, and probably shouldn't get a bad review or negative comments. I understand the things people may have issues with aren't always immediately obvious, I don't expect anyone to have every such possibility memorized, but just give it a little bit of extra consideration
The way some ppl talk about trans men and acting like we’re not “rlly trans”
Or like the same with nonbinary ppl and intersex folks as being like, some weird extraneous things that are maybe trans but only based on vibes and not identity or gender
Kinda reminds me of how Protestants act with Catholics like “oh I think it’s possible for a Catholic to be Christian” girl what the fuck they pray to Jesus wdym
Look. It is 2025 and therefore WAAAAAAAY too late to still be complaining about the FE3H fandom. BUT.
The fact we got a game about an emotionally stunted person, who grew and changed and came out of their shell by interacting with others and learned they had a knack for helping people grow, who learned more about the world they were a part of in a year than their previously isolated existence, who found meaning in leadership and guidance roles, and who ultimately saved a continent no matter the route.
The one in which they are the main character and end up in a leadership role over said continent, where they can help the most people and get to stay in the first place they could call home.
“Well they’re unqualified.” “It’s unfair to them.” “Why?! What do they hope to achieve?” “They should just go back to aimless wandering and killing, it would be better for them.” “It’s dumb and they don’t know what they’re doing.”
Like were you paying attention at all???
Man I love Dimitri to death but it will always piss me off how he's allowed to heal during the actual story and become sympathetic to the audience once again while Rhea doesn't get the same privilege even though their stories are basically the same, everyone loves it when the young troubled man gets a redemption arc and gains back everything they lost but when it's an old hag whose trauma isn't easily digestible and who doesn't cry pathetically over being rejected by the player she doesn't get the same privilege and she either unceremoniously dies offscreen or her healing is relegated to an ending story blurb. I love how intsys treats women!!!
Tbh it is kind of crazy that some people act like you can’t critique a piece of media you’re consuming and still be a fan of it. Baby I’m being negative and tearing it apart because that is fun and cathartic to me, I’m not hating, I’m playing at a larger game here called media analysis. You should learn about it too :)
