You have genres like calypso, cadence, zouk, reggae, dancehall, reggaeton, bouyon, chutney, parang, kaiso, steelpan... Fusions like ragga-soca, cadence-lypso, chutney-soca, rakatang... And you have soca. Soca, that for so long, was seen as nothing more than 'jump up music' but is now, more than ever, getting the global recognition it so rightly deserves.
