I’m still going through my Discworld Day photos but I needed to post this one because it is excellent
So yesterday would've Terry Pratchett's 70th birthday! If you don't know him he was the man who created Discworld, a great series of novels set on a flat fantasy world on the backs of four elephants who themselves stand atop the shell of a giant space turtle known as the Great A'tuin Don't ask. Anyways, it's a fantastic series with fantasy & comedy & interesting concepts that should at least be read once. It's my most favorite book series. So in honor of him & the novels he left us with, I created a whole thread on Twitter where I made some drawings of Discworld characters & gave my own thoughts & experiences of the series, which I called Discworld Day! These are just the drawings, though if you're interested in seeing my thoughts & all, go to Twitter account, twitter.com/mrsunrise5 . I might also compose a moment after a while, so hold on. I really hope to do this next year & make this an annual tradition & I'm really tored thanks goodnight & remember to speak his name. (Characters/people, from left to right, are Terry Pratchett himself, the Luggage, Commander Vimes, Rincewind, & Death.)
Here’s a shout out for the wonderful and inspiring Terry Pratchett, it’s his funeral today.* I propose April 28th become ‘Discworld Day‘ involving costumed street parties and random acts of generousity such as donating old paperbacks to strangers that haven’t read his books (someone else is doing that today and I think it’s a great idea). Cheers to Terry! ~S *Amendment: Rhianna (Terry’s daughter and the new guardian of Discworld) confirmed that his funeral was actually yesterday.
