The two Discworld genders are "understands metaphors" (the Ephebian philosophers, Magrat, Verence, Ponder, there's deffo more but it's lost right now) and "doesn't understand metaphors" (Ridcully, the main character in small gods whose name I forgot, many of Lancre's uneducated folk, etc). There are exceptions such as the Librarian ("Ook?") and I'm kicking myself bc I can't remember which is Nanny and which is Granny.
