more days of productivity • April 2018 I'm back at the kitchen to study because it's pouring cats and dogs in Glasgow. My cat pens and I are trying real hard to stay focussed but this shit is hard when you're doing it for the 9275937 day in a row. I hope you're doing better during this exam diet.

(me, playing Rusty Lake: Paradise)
Never over the silly little way he sits on the cannon
Vetinary and non-binary rhymes guys I think it's a sign
Heads up, I'm planning to open commissions this summer!
I have the sheet and most of the formalities ready to roll, so now I'm just waiting to be done with my exams so I have the time for drawing without more responsibilities hanging over my head. Idk I just wanted to say it, maybe someone will care, I'm also a little curious if anyone would even be interested lol
There will be a limited offer at the beginning!!
I love Gus Grav as the man he is.
That being said, I can not deny the intense urge to make him non-binary for my sake and my sake only
YESSSSS 100% all your tags there. bewitching is right. dune played a trick on us with this more-developed-than-you'd-think henchman. he only appears a little bit but piter actually gets an arc before he dies and hayt gives an oddly compelling last mention of piter and his dignity (!!!) two books later because even herbert was still thinking of him. which i find vindicating after also ruminating about him for a decade lmao
Ohh I didn't know he was mentioned two books later, that's so fun!!
This is something I find genuinely compelling about Dune: you can feel that this universe is alive. Nothing is suspended in the void; every "mechanic", every place and every side-character clearly has a purpose and a life outside of the scenes they're in. You can so clearly tell Herbert just knew Piter while describing him, he had a clear idea of who this character is, no matter if he was going to describe it or not. I admire it so much that I'm almost not mad about never getting to know the whole story that he had in mind... The two Road to Dune chapters that mention him live in my head rent-free
Also, some of the Encyclopedia stuff about him is fascinating!! I don't treat it as fully canon, but I've listened to this one podcast episode (the only Gom Jabbar: A Dune Podcast episode I've ever listened to lol the link is here) where they explain how according to the Encyclopedia, Piter's training was truly vile (though not what caused him to be the little freak that he is), and there's also these clones of him, making the "replacement" dialogue between him and the Baron hit so much harder
He's just eating away at my BRAIN DUDE
