Tell me about the moment you first realised you were in love with someone you were never supposed to want.
Tell me ... questions for your muses.
"...I'm not supposed to feel love for anyone. I wasn't made have that feeling or emotion within me." If that anyone wasn't Mokuba and the respect he has for Isono and Fuguta.
His step-father's voice rang clear in his head despite the nearing decade of hearing his voice in person for the last time and the little less of time since the whole virtual fiasco: "Seto, any form of emotion or feeling that you have can and will be used against you by anyone. By your little brother, by your enemies, by your associates, and by me. You are to be my successor and for that to be fulfilled, you must never feel anything else. You can feel success, winning, the crushing of your enemies beneath your boots, the pride of yourself."
What encouraging words for a twelve year old to get instilled with.
He looked out the window as the sun was starting to set. His fingers drummed lightly against the familiar surface of the table. His breathing was calm despite the creeping thoughts and echoes of his step-father come back into his head. Kaiba wished more than anything to let these voices and thoughts stop. Let them just be muted for once so he can truly figure out what is happening to him, what is this feeling exactly, and why does it have to happen now.
"I got ya Jonouchi deluxe special, extra bacon for the CEO, and I got ya milkshake. Told 'em in the back to not be too stingy like last time on the chocolate flavour." Jonouchi set everything down without spilling a drop (shockingly) on the table as he sat and stretched within the booth. "Let's get down to business, Moneybags. Ya probably haven't eaten anything since lunch but knowing you, more likely than your sixth cup of coffee and maybe a pastry from this morning." The way the other duelist grinned as he grabbed the other burger for himself and dug in.
The way the sun hit the topaz eyes on just the right angle making them look honey and golden. Sapphire eyes skimmed the frame leaning over the burger as he could see the faintest hint of natural colour peaking through the blond. The steel within Kaiba was melting and fracturing every single time they sat across from each other. And as this routine continued, that feeling began to manifest into a persistent person that has been circling him for years at this point.
There was doubt of course. There was the thoughts brought on from Gozaburo that Jonouchi has been doing this just to get something out of Kaiba. Whether it be another duel or a Duel Disk, whether an admission. Or that this was happening to see how far the other could take before laughing in his face saying it was a joke.
Why would Jonouchi feel anything else for Kaiba? After their history, after what Kaiba has told Jonouchi handfuls of time in the past, there wouldn't be a shot in heaven or hell that there could be anything else between them.
"It doesn't matter so much to what I feel or what that title is or what the titles are," Kaiba looked away. "I am aware they wouldn't feel the same about me and I don't blame them too much at the end of the day."
