1.) What’s your biggest accomplishment?
I really have to say it's being in a stable marriage. I had to go through a lot of work (and therapy) to get to the healthy place I'm in right now. If you ever met my family of origin, you would understand why it's such a big deal for me.
2.) What brings you a lot of joy?
Waves in the ocean, wind on my skin. Going to bed long before bedtime, just to chat and laugh with someone I love.
3.) What do you do for fun?
My family (my brother, husband, and I) have established a tradition of dressing up in costumes at every opportunity to get free food. Actually, we jump on any opportunity to get free food.
4.) If you could do anything, what would you do with your life?
Either become a MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) OR a health teacher, providing I get to teach teenagers about mental illness, sex education, and parenting preparation.
5.) Do you like to read books? If so, what kinds?
Loving to read has been a part of my identity since I was very young. I was home-schooled, and since we didn't have AC, we would hang out in the library for hours. I adore Sherlock Holmes (but not The Valley of Fear), classics, and a general spread of fantasy.
6.) Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? If so, what are they?
I'll give my smart-aleck response: To have a baby
7.) How do you spend most of your time?
Lately, I've been watching lectures by Robert Sapolsky, making cloth diapers, and being more domestic than I logically feel comfortable with. We want one parent to stay home, and my husband makes much more money than I do, so we're filling standard gender roles at the moment.
8.) What’s something good that happened today?
I went to church and looked at people's eyes when I talked to them. Major achievement.
9.) What’s something you’re looking forward to?
It's super obvious, but I'm excited to meet my baby. I'm also excited to have a birth experience to share, so women can no longer claim expertise on what my body can do.
10.) What TV shows do you like?
Community, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Adventure Time, Granada Sherlock Holmes, Regular Show...
11.) Do you like books more or the movies based on the books?
Depends. I think that Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Prestige was brilliant, but Harry Potter 3 was a major letdown. I'm waiting for the Abhorsen or Kate Daniels series to be adapted.
1. Why are you on Tumblr?
2. Is it harder to tell others about your past secrets or current mistakes?
3. Is there any aspect of your fandom that embarrasses/irritates you?
4. Do you see yourself as an adolescent, adult, or emerging adult?
5. What one possession do you wish you could have preventing from breaking?
6. Which of your family members could have never existed without affecting how your family operates?
7. Which of your opinions/viewpoints is most often brought into question by others?
8. Why do you subscribe to my feed?
9. What is your favorite piece of fanfiction/fancomic/TV show spinoff?
10. Which intelligence do you think you excelled at as a toddler?
11. What mental illness/disorder do you most often defend against stigma?
