So, a while back, I bought this fun and lovely little book(Copyright 2020 so it's only five years old).
It's called "Disney's Who's Who An A to Z of Disney Characters". Posting the rest under a read more to shorten this post slightly-
For one thing, it's really funny to see Maleficwnt and Hercules right next to each other on the cover. And Yzma and Jasmine next to each other. Pls help. XD
Anyway, so... this book has tiny random facts about some of the characters in it and I'm just-
I don't know why the pic ended up sideways. Guess my camera turned. XD
But this little factoid blurb says that Jasmine herself says she learned how to ride a horse before she could walk!!! I don't know exactly how that's intended to come across, but I see it able to be thought about in two different ways.
1. Either she was so spoiled by her overprotective daddy that she learned horseback riding before walking. Albeit this only half makes sense since one can also get hurt riding horses, and arguably hurt worse riding horses than walking.
2. The theory that makes more sense: This adventurous little tot was so fuckin' smart and precocious that before she ever put two feet to the ground, she just immediately hopped the fuck on horseback and was learning how to ride before she could walk. Which, technically that would've made walking easier for her because you need HELLA leg strength and core strength to ride a horse. Like, Jasmine would have had absolutely NO trouble walking after learning to ride a horse.
The second little "Did You Know" factoid says that though the exact date is unclear, Jasmine was born sometime in February, because the movie takes place shortly before her birthday. Apparently, she probably had her birthday DURING the movie because Chinese New Year is usually observed in February and it looks like Chinese New Year is happening when they stop in China after "A Whole New World".
I just love things being canonized and clarified on. It can be really fun!!
