“There’s a young man in a glass coffin,” said the Prince’s men. “He was found in the woods.”
Ryuunosuke’s horse slowly walks through the forest underbrush. The rider keeps his eyes narrow, forward, lips pulled tight.
“He must have been a man of great stature to have a burial of such grandeur,” the men said. “As prince, it is your duty to visit the final resting place of all your nobles.”
But no one knows this noble, Ryuu thinks now with a sigh and a roll of his eyes. The only young noble he remembers was lost to him months ago, in these very woods, never to be heard from again. Ryuu can only hope he found somewhere safe.
His gloved hands grip tighter to the reins. When he closes his eyes, he can still see them. He can still see the envy and rage in that man’s eyes when he demanded Atsushi must be killed. He can still see Atsushi, his lover of more than three years, despite his ominous title of the “assassin prince” due to how efficiently he seemed to keep his line to the throne - all rumors, but all true, of course.
He can still see Atsushi’s face when Ryuu told him he was hired to kill him. He can still see him running, only once looking back at Ryuu, tears spilling out of his sunset-colored eyes.
Some days we want cover ourselves in sparkles, dance in front of the kingdom and call ourselves a princess. And other days we dare to fight the dragon and pretend to be a prince.
Thankfully, we can play both.
"You don't know who I am? That is...They call me Kit."
Me? Finally getting around to filming my bits for the Disney Week? Yes.
