One very common piece of trivia that people like to talk about is that there is a basketball court inside of the Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction. This is partly true. No, it is not a full court; it is just a hoop with half court paint guides on the floor. People also say that Walt added the "court", because the Matterhorn exceeded the height limitations of a building, so they needed a court to call it a sports complex. This is 100% false. First of all, one hoop wouldn't be able to be considered a sports complex. Second, there is no law in California that says if a building exceeds a height limit, it can only be for a sports complex. The real reason why the Matterhorn has a basketball hoop, is because there was extra space in the peak of the Matterhorn, and the Disney employee's asked Walt for one so the mountain climbers can play when they are on their breaks. Next time someone tries to tell you that's why the Matterhorn has a "court" in it, prove them wrong.
