A storm raged outside the castle. The wind whipped against the stone walls and whistled past the windows and through the eaves of the building. Arthur awoke to the rain pounding against the glass panes and the sound of distant thunder.
With a sleepy sigh, he rolled over and willed his slumber to take over once more when he heard a soft cry from down the hall. He knew that Morgana had been having nightmares for some time now, so he figured she must be dreaming once more.
He lay in his bed for a few more seconds before hearing another anguished cry. He huffed in annoyance at himself as he dragged himself from his bed to Morgana's chamber door. He allowed a moment between his knock before calling,
"----Morgana?"
When he received no immediate answer, he hesitated, but pushed the door open and poked his head inside.
"Good morning, My Lady. Did you sleep well last night?"
