Dart was in her room- she mostly did when she was at the apartment. She was sprawled out on her bed holding a small stuffed fox staring at the ceiling. She had tentatively started to decorate it adding color where she could.

Corpus Caden went to check on her- no particular reason, honestly, he just felt like it. Since they’re literally living together, plus that’s his friend, may as well. Also he was going to ask her if she needed anything, like.. furniture wise or in general. He didn’t know if she had specific stuff or anything, like any furniture or anything, because no offense to her, but he would not be surprised if she didn’t have decent quality stuff. Since she was literally settling for living in a crumbling building before. Also to be honest he didn’t know if she needed specific stuff to help deal with her powers in day to day life- like if there’s specific materials or brands that work better for her with stuff relating to the residue she leaves behind unintentionally. Yes he can research on his own, but Caden thought it might be better to see what works well with Dart socially.

So the blonde knocked on her door gently as he stood outside, Caden smiled a bit, “How you doing, Dart?” he would ask from the other side of the door- since it would be rude to go in when like.. yeah he also lives here, but it’s rude to barge into anywhere.

Dart walked over to Corpus in the break room- the shift just started so they probably wouldn't be doing much and she had the uno deck in her hand as she sat down. "You weren't like actually serious about the apartment thing right?"

Corpus’ brows furrowed a bit in confusion, as he gave Dart a bit of a look, as if silently asking, ‘do I look like I’d joke about that?’ He just shook his head to get rid of that expression, “Of course I am. You need a place to stay- you said you stayed in your old place because it was cheep, so it would be more convenient to have a roommate- I’m the most suitable and convenient, since we could just go to work together, and then you wouldn’t have to worry about cross contamination or making an issue with a roommate. I mean, I don’t want to say you have to, but..” he trailed off, giving her a halfhearted smile, “it would definitely lessen Cecelia’s worrying. “

Yes he wants to make sure she’s fine.. plus it would probably be better for the both of them, since Corpus doesn’t take the best care of himself as is, it’s a motivator on both ends. And also it’s more safe on Dart’s end, lessens stress as well of her having to worry about hurting someone.

The blonde man brushed a hand over his face, wiping away a partially dried bit of blood that dripped from his nose- he had a shitty morning, okay, and he didn’t feel like killing himself before the shift even started, just to heal it quicker. “Plus I already live in that building, so it’s not like you’d be surrounded by strangers, and it’s close to Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne boulevard, which has a ton of stuff there. So.. don’t need to go far, in comparison to other shit. Like, stuff to do in a two mile radius or whatever. Basically- I think it would be more convenient for you.”

"Corpus can we do that thing to look at the apartment you showed me?"

Corpus looked over at Dart and smiled a bit as she said that- because even if he didn’t show it, he was literally so fucking happy about Dart agreeing to do this, it would be convenient for her and also probably genuinely helpful. “Yeah, of course- I could always look at a in person sorta walkthrough, or I could send you the digital tours they have posted for like, every apartment type.”

— TAPE ONE —

Doctor [REDACTED] here, we discovered VHS tapes in victims of whom we call “the Venus killer”. We’d find the bodies with the symbol of the roman god Venus burnt into their skin. When we had started the autopsies, we’d found VHS tapes, that were, weirdly, perfectly intact. That’s why it’s so much odder, because they should have blood somewhere. But they were perfect.

I’m not THAT much older than her, but I’m happy I can be a positive impact in her life… because lord, she needs it. I don’t mind if she sees me like a brother, or a dad, or whatever

Speaking Dart, I’m gonna have to let her pick her room and stuff for the apartment when we move in- we’ve got it now, I just need to tell her.

Gonna go find some stuff that she can use and won’t have to worry about contamination for. I don’t want her to have to worry about poisoning herself- even if it’s not lethal to her, it can still be annoying from what I’ve seen. So, I’ll probably end up looking more into if there’s any sort of furniture or other things made for supers with any sort of similar power area I can find
