Theo wanted to apologize. Now, that never came easily for him, not unless it was forced or required for his survival. But... He felt insanely bad for how he's been treating Eve, especially after their last interaction. He doesn't actually know how to apologize, just knows saying sorry saved his ass more times than he can count. He heard gifts are something to do when apologizing, so he went out and bought chocolate. Even if he thought it was disgusting. Even if just holding the box was making him want to throw up. He knows it's a thing many people like.
He was actually trying to find Eve this time, carrying the box of chocolates. He saw Xan- but he didn't quite see the girl he was looking for nearby. Or maybe he was just blind, but he saw Xan. Not that he recognized him at first, but he could almost hear the ticking of the clock he heard last time he saw him. Almost, because the sound wasn't actually there... But Theo could swear he heard it. And immediately he wanted to shrink in on himself and disappear- why did this guy have to be here?! And- why does he have a body?

Xan was walking around a bit on his own.. not far from Eve’s house, actually, but he was just sorta getting used to the feeling of being alive, do a bit. He could already physically feel the hours tick by, how everything was only a temporary pleasure.. the feeling of sleeping and waking up at that old time he used to, 6:32, never quite sure why it was so specific, but he remembers it well, since it was a constant for his last few years alive. It felt off to wake up, and have to adjust his body, the way his hair stubbornly clung to his face in the morning, or even just how it felt to rub the tiredness out of his eyes. It was odd, not a bad odd, but… odd. Eve had told her parents, of course- said how someone used their power and now he was alive for a bit- after a brief explanation, they were actually pretty calm about it.. well, after that and Xan talking to them for a few hours explaining why he was essentially haunting their daughter— it was so weird… especially weird to have an adult be nice to him. But whatever… he’d been given some of Gary’s unused clothes, since he only had a day and a half- about 34 hours approximately, if he had to assume, just by looking at his body.
He’d decided to walk around a bit, since he’d never get this chance again- one of the kid’s old burner phones was tossed to him from Colette, in case he needed anything, she said. He’ll never quite get used to that. Xan ding quite notice Theo at the start, he was just sitting nearby, string off a bit, since he knew he wouldn’t get these little moments again. The way the wind felt, sun against his form, what it felt like to be immersed in the world for even just a short time longer.. the child of time quite appreciated it. He almost looked content, probably… just a teenager. A dark shirt on, Gary had gotten it when he went with the kids to see Beetlejuice the musical, so it had the logo on there for it, and stuff like ‘the ghost with the most’ and ‘the afterlife’s leading bioexorcist’, he supposes he himself found it a bit funny, to be alive again and wearing something making a jab at death. That T shirt, with an old pair of jeans, and simple sneakers, it was kinda weird to him.. to think that he looked sorta like a teenager, probably. Xan looked around briefly, he was just enjoying the feelings of existing.. when his eyes glazed over Theo’s form, his calm expression shifting a bit, clearly a look of distaste, those golden eyes meeting Theo’s own.. ugh. He supposed he should be civil. At least in public, whether Theo recognizes him or not.
So the teen simply adjusted how he sat on the bench, one arm had been thrown across the back of it while the other was lazily at his side, “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” He spoke simply, acknowledging Theo’s gaze on him.
