An increase in pay usually also means an increase in the workload.
It can be overwhelming to take calls and turn in any extra work that may be required so you may have to spend some of your "off" time doing extra things depending on your call volume.

Getting to know the characters the operator is playing is more difficult because dispatch companies typically have the operators playing multiples.
