so i recently came up with a little theory/argument to explore in my dissertation that would be made a billion times better if i did a little survey of all the men who crop up in the icelandic family sagas to see just how many of them actually participate in violence, and how those who do are treated by their respective texts vs. those who are never reported to have done any Stabby Time. the only problems with getting this survey done are a) that the list of all the family sagas looks like this:
b) i own/have access to less than half of these atm, and c) all of my reading, of both primary source material and academic texts, needs to be done by december, which sounds doable at first, but at two of the intermittent months are michaelmas term, when i will also have all of my classes and weekly essays and translation work to manage.
so is this actually remotely doable? yes. obviously. i am fuelled by a passion for men and gore* that can never be satiated. i look forwards to dragging all of you on this journey with me
*in a strictly academic sense
