@raivensreyes yeah i think you get the individual results whenever they're marked and then the actual grade sometime in june so im nervous eeek but thanks xxx
I hope you'll are praying for me, by this time next week I'll have handed in two dissertations - which are still in the works...
mutuals do this
write my 8,000 word dissertation on how the advancements of science changed perspectives on mental health and disapproved the belief that demons and spirits were the cause of it
mutuals do this
write my 6,000 word dissertation on a critical analysis of the representation of the gods in homer's the iliad.
About the iliad, so you have to write an essay on one of the aspects of the iliad? And something philosophical but it's more about english lit? You could study the influence of the iliad on modern stories (but it has probably been explored a lot already). The myth of the hero with Achilleus (idk how his name is written in english). Glory cannot equal happiness. Or just find an aspect that strikes you. For me it's the sacrifice of Hector, not just for duty but bc he thinks he's responsible
I don’t necessarily have to do the Iliad, it’s more like you pick a text and analyse it kind of? Like I said it confuses me greatly because firstly I don’t pay enough attention *im such a little shit* but also yeah, it does feel like I’m doing an english lit degree! But yeah I immediately thought of the Iliad, because it would kind of bring me back into the comfort zone of a) a story i know and like, and b) ancient greece, i’m all about that shit. pretty sure aristotle has an input on the subject!
BUT that sounds interesting too! I mean, I have 6,000 words here so I can weave in whatever’s relevant it’s just the matter of picking/forming a question but oh my god are y’all sure you wanna help out this literal mess like everyone is being nice and coming up with shit that’s gon save my ass THANKS
sylvaria answered your question:
Anyone good with titles?
I love coming up with titles! What are some of the motifs? Is there a word or phrase that comes up at an important time in the story that holds a lot of meaning?
Ha. I’m not clever enough to include motif-y things.
Although, I guess the idea of labels/cliques does come up a lot? And the idea of pretending to be someone you’re not to fit in with others. I think there were a few mirror/reflection passages actually, cause I’m so cliche like that.
There’s also this whole thing of words vs actions type of thing. Like the link between, which is more effective etc.
Annoying thing is I’ve only written (and am only submitting) 30,000 words, of a novel that would probably end up being like 100,000 words maybe, so I haven’t gotten to the main part of it so I’m totally cluelessss.
Anyone good with titles?
I need a title for my dissertation piece and I’m so so so bad at titling things...so HALP PLZ.
