Over the weekend I dissolved my first trial. I was looking at sustainability and decided to show it via dissolvable fabric and collaging. I went on walks around my area and gathered plants and took photos to put on the fabric (The photo that I used for this trial was one I took in Glastonbury Abbey.) I then free-machine embroidered: “Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability for future generations to meet their own needs”. The process of this breaking down and dissolving represents the idea that we shouldn’t be leaving a large carbon footprint on this earth, and that we need to start living sustainably for future generations. As it was dissolving though, it sort of represented the idea that time is running out to make a change.
