It just rained and I cried.
I don't think I've experienced rain since May (excluding spitting)?
I never, ever thought I'd be so overcome with joy at the sound of rain. You don't grow up thinking that.
Alright so we had wildfires in Canada, United States of America, Croatia, and England. Any other wildfires around the world this year that was abnormally large, or even the fact that they started was abnormal? Because it looks like to me that the world is burning. The world is experiencing its Climate Crisis. We’ve been getting less and less snow during the winter, unpredictable rains throughout the seasons it’s supposed to rain. The temperatures keep on ramping up and up and up and this is not natural to the Earth’s Milankovitch cycles. (The very gradual climate change the Earth goes through that spans thousands of years.) The temps are changing dramatically within a century.
I’m sorry to say this climate crisis deniers, but you need to get your head out of the ground and face the fact.
Humanity fucked up. But humanity is learning. And humanity needs to get our asses into gear and demand change from our governments and the richest people on the planet. Because while we as individuals have power over our individual decisions, these few people have too much power in their hands, and they’re using it to watch the world burn. Even when it’s affecting them, staring them in front of their faces, they won’t do shit even when they take their last breaths.
Accumulation on Switzerland’s glaciers from last winter expected to all be gone by Monday amid ‘enormous’ melt rates across Alps
From glaciers shrinking to an exposed shipwreck, satellites capture the impact of extreme heat and drought.
The saddest thing about the climate collapse is centrists immediately jumping from climate denialism all the way to climate defeatism
I'm not a huge fan of my government sending me drunken text messages. I thought we had broken up. Especially not making unenforceable demands with little legal authority.
I think it would be better if the government acted on climate targets. Abandon plans for north sea drilling at Jackdaw and Rosebank. Grow our renewable infrastructure. And, most importantly: go vegan.
PS. Don't you just love my phone font?
X: oh man, that was the hottest summer ever!
Correction. That was the COLDEST summer for the rest of your life
