from spirited away? i don't think we'll ever, ever know, even if he didn't retire. a lot of ghibli movies end like that... the secret life of arrietty had a plot point like that, too.
i think bittersweet endings like that are his "thing". haku and chihiro may never see each other again, but the time they spent together was valuable, and i'm sure neither of them will ever forget it.

eh, i found MU much more relatable and amazing since I just entered college, but Epic was nice. Them Ronin/Queen moments were heartbreaking though.
I liked MU, I really did. I just didn't think it was THAT great, ya know? I didn't really like any of the new side characters from Mike and Sully's frat (except for Art, he was awesome) and the plot was not that great or original either. *shrugs*

Can she just have her own major battle for once? I mean, her last solo battle was Angel, which was a Deus Ex Machina. Bixlow was her last real fight alone… She’s so much more powerful now as well yet it’s rare for us to see it.
Yes, that's true. Celestial Spirit magic is mysterious in my opinion. I think Mashima is giving Lucy power-ups and development for a major battle in future arcs.
