âItâs almost time,â Lexa whispered, standing in the wings of the stage. Clarke looked over at her girlfriend, dressed as Hippolyta. She remembered when Lexa had got the part they both laughed at the name,
âYou can never name a girl that!â Clarke had protested.
âWell you could back then, Clarke.â Lexa beamed at her, kissed her on the lip.
âBut you donât even look like a Hippolyta!âÂ
Lexa laughed, âthatâs a good thing, I think?â she shrugged a little. But she couldnât stop bouncing on her heels with excitement, âyouâre going to help me practice it right??â
âOf course,â Clarke had laughed, âhow could I turn down an amazonian queen with a magical girdle??âÂ
Lexa snorted, took her by the upper arms and leaned in and kissed her on the lips before saying, âmagical girdle, huh? I think you just want in my pants.â
But now it was opening night, and Lexa looked so nervous, she was twisting her hands and Clarke could tell that she was going through lines in her head. So leaning in Clarke kissed her on the lips. Lexa blinked quickly and looked up at her> Clarke gripped her girl by the shoulders, âyou know this part, babe...inside out, backwards..â she nodded quickly to reassure her, âyouâre going to nail this, okay?âÂ
âOkay.â Lexa smiled bravely at her.
âPlaces, everyone!â Indra, the director of the calls called out, âCurtain in five minutes!!âÂ
Clarke looked toward it in time to see other actresses and actors scrambling about to get into their places. Including John who played Philostrate, and Lincoln who had the role of Theseus. But Lexa hadnât moved and Indra bellowed,
âLexa! That means you!â
âComing!â Lexa called out. She turned and looked at Clarke and their eyes met again. Clarke smiled at her and checked her over, her hair was perfect and it was hard to see her really through the heavy stage makeup. But she could see her girlfriendâs nervous green eyes. She squeezed her hand, âtime for you to go.âÂ
âClarkeâŠ..â Lexa whispered. She didnât show nerves often, in front of anyone. But Clarke knew where to look for them and squeezed her hand again,
âYou got this baby. And Iâm gonna be right in the front row cheering you on.âÂ
Lexa laughed softly, âdonât cheer too loudly. Itâs not a football game.â she tried to tease. Clarke just laughed, kissed her hand, and slowly backed away, âbreak a leg...but not really okay?â
âGot it, Clarke.â Lexa laughed.Â
âOne minute!â Indra shouted, and quick as she could, Clarke dashed off the stage and ran down the ramp and around the side to slide into her seat in the front row near Raven. She was holding her breath and didnât even know it. She stared at the red curtain, waiting for it to go up.
âBreathe, Clarke.â Raven shouldered her.
âI canât help it. All sheâs wanted to do is be an actress.â she pulled in the breath though. The next thing she knew, the house lights were dimming..down and the curtain went up and so did the stage lights, illuminating a moderate set that was supposed to be the Palace of Theseus, Lexa was just entering at the side of the stage, walking with Lincoln and John. Lincolnâs was the opening line,
âNow, fair Hippolyta, our nuptial hour draws on apace; four happy days bring in another moon: but, O, methinks, how slow this old moon wanes! She lingers my desires, like to a step-dame or a dowager long withering out a young man's revenue.â Lincoln glanced at Lexa.Â
Lexa answered, âfour days will quickly steep themselves in nightâ the trio stopped in the middle of the stage, âfour nights will quickly dream away the timeâŠâ Clarke had her hands in front of her chest and was whispering the lines along with her, âand then the moon, like to a silver bow new-bent in heavenâŠâ
â-Clarke,â Beside her, Raven her off.
â-what??â she hissed under her breath, not taking her eyes off of Lexa who was deeply in character right now and Clarke was still whispering the lines right along with her, â..shall behold the night of our solemnities.â
âWill you hush??â Raven elbowed her, âIâm trying to watch!âÂ
âOkay!â Clarke gave in, âokay!â she slumped in her chair, watching her girlfriend command the stage. Soon she was smiling and lost in the play. Lexa captured Hippolyta perfectly and Clarke laughed at the irony.Â

âDance is on Thursdays,â Lexa rushed out. Sheâd checked the day before rushing home, âit wonât get in the way.â
âAnd you will keep your grades up?â Indra asked next.
Lexa nodded quickly again, âI will.â
âFine,â Indra laughed under her breath and tossed the spoon into the sink before taking another out of a drawer and continuing to stir whatever she was cooking.
Lexa grinned ear to ear with excitement, âthanks mom!â
She shook her head, ânever thought weâd be adding dance recitals to theater and chess club,â then she paused a second before asking, âthis doesnât have anything to do with Clarke, does it?â
Her smile fell and she froze up. Sure that she looked like a deer in the headlights she took in all her momâs ingredients and changed the subject, âso, isnât your cooking club today? What are you making?â She knew her mom could go on for hours about her cooking club, given the chance.
âPineapple fried rice with shrimp,â Indra gushed, glancing over her shoulder to smile at her, âthe ladies are going to love it.â
Lexa grinned to and exhaled in relief, it worked, âI bet so!â she encouraged, âyour cooking is so good, mom!â
âWhy, thank you,â Indra replied, ânowâŠâ she wiped her hands, washed them in the sink and turned to the fruit bowl, âI just need to cut up the pineappleâŠ..â Indra put her hands on her hips as she studied the bowl that only had apples and oranges, â...where is my pineapple?â
Lexa froze again on her stool, hunching up her shoulders she bit her lip. She had found a whole pineapple in the fruit bowl yesterday-
With her hands on her hips, Indra started to turn in a slow circle to take in the rest of the kitchen, âI know I bought one...they were on sale at Polis Market.â
Anya had been over yesterday, and Lexa hadnât known the pineapple was important. A knot grew in her stomach.
âMaybe I didnât.â Indra glanced at her pan of cooking.
âYou did mom!â Lexa blurted out. She she squeezed her eyes shut and rushed out, âAnya and I turned it into smoothies yesterday!â Exhaling, Lexa whipped open her eyes to see her momâs reaction. Indra was just staring at her, and Lexa was holding her breath.
âYou used my pineapple?â Indra finally asked.

âLook at us,â Clarke choked out, âfalling for each other.â
Lexa knew it was meant to be a joke, but she felt herself blush anyway, âits something, isnât it??â she asked back. Clarke nodded. They hadnât even bothered to get up from the snow. After a second or two her laughing changed to coughing and then to a soft silence that left Clarke staring at her, which left Lexa holding her breath and trying not to be nervous, after all...sheâd just met Clarke. There was no reason to be nervous like this. After this they would each go their separate ways and that would be the end of it.
âSo you come here a lot?â Clarke dropped her gaze first.
âI do,â Lexa nodded and looked away through the park, âI like it here.â
âI just moved here,â Clarke said next, she shook her wet hair back and looked over the park too, âit's pretty far away from home.â she shrugged, and then studied her wet hands. With a soft sniff that might have been from the cold she glanced up to where Lexaâs chocolate sat a few feet away abandoned in the snow, âsorry about your drink.â
âNo, its okay,â Lexa said quickly, because suddenly Clarke looked so sad, like she had paused for a moment and ...something⊠had slipped in, âwhere is home?â She tried for what she hoped was a happy topic. She wanted to see Clarke smile again.
It worked. Clarke smiled and shook back her hair, âArkadia,â she shrugged, âyou probably donât know where it is.â
âOn the other side of Tondc?â Lexa asked.
âYou heard of it?â Clarke seemed surprised.
âIâve heard of it,â Lexa admitted, âit takes days to get there by car.â
âThatâs the one,â Clarke smirked a little bit. She seemed very proud of her hometown. Clarke wet her lips, âI guess thereâs lots of reasons I left. I wanted to help people.â
âMe too,â Lexa answered. They had common ground, besides the cold snow they were seated in. It was all the way through her clothes now.
âBut I left all my friends,â Clarke went on, she got up though, and went back to the snowball. On cue, Lexa got up too. She helped Clarke pick the giant snowball up and helped her carry it over to the body and put it on top. Clarke went to a bag Lexa hadnât seen before near the base of a tree and took out two pieces of coal and the traditional carrot. Using the carrot for the nose, she pushed the coal into place for the eyes.
Lexa grabbed branches from small trees and put them into the snowman as arms. When they were done, she stood back with Clarke and admired their work. Because her heart was thumping out of control just from being near Clarke, she barely remembered what they had been talking about when Clarke nodded at the snowman and added, âso I guess..I thought Iâd make one.â Clarke looked at her quickly. Lexa saw it out of the corner of her eye.

Hi guys, so...a couple years ago I started this up in hopes of it helping to get out of a bad situation. You might not know it by looking at me, but I have a heath condition that can be a show stopper for a lot of jobs. But writing is something I always loved doing, and so I thought about doing this.
On this patreon, is over two years worth of content, several Clexa fics, including any available chapters of Flygirl, Lullaby of the Giant five and all 90 chapters of Wild Earth are housed here. As are many more.
Mostly, along with Tumblr, this patreon will be a launchpad for my original f/f novel length books. Eventually, more original work will be incorporated.
For just 3 dollars, you get early access to my fics...and Iâm not talking a week early, Iâm talking two months. Also for 3 dollars everyone gets to vote on submitted prompts.Â
For 5 dollars, you get early access and voting rights, and to submit prompts.
And for 10 dollars? You get all the above, plus a bonus day of content on Mondayâs.
I hope to see you there, but, I also want to thank everyone for reading wherever you do. It means a lot to me. So, thank you guys. And have a good day where-ever you are.Â
So here I am. Glad to be back online full time. In late July I suffered a hacking attack that killed my hardware and left my internet connectivity vulnerable. It was very crippling. Now I have a new device, a new modem/router, and better security measures in place.Â
The time away gave me a chance to think about a lot of things and, of course, to do a lot of writing - albeit in longhand đ - that I canât wait to share with you. You can expect more content on my Patreon, updates on AO3, and special treats here on Tumblr. I am especially happy to tell you that I have been writing an original book and creating the original art for it. Watch for reveals! Â
I have missed you all and look forward to resuming interaction with you! My Ask box is open so please say hello, ask questions, send comments đ
I will announce changes to my Patreon membership tiers very soon, and I have opened a Ko-fi. I do plan to set up a Commissions Menu on Ko-fi so stay tuned for that as well. Your monetary support helps with cost of living expenses and to keep sharing stories with you.
Please check out my redesigned blog. There is a navigation menu with links.
Thanks, everyone, for being there for me â€ïž (Bethie, youâre the best!)

Reaching her bed before she fell, she grabbed ahold of the delicate carvings in the headboard to keep from falling, pulled back the white quilt, and flopped down on her back on the bed. Her head was spinning from being dizzy, and she knew her hair was getting the pillow wet, but she couldnât move it she tried. She wasnât dizzy anymore. But she as so so tired now, and this nap was what sheâd been wanting since late last night. Tugging the blanket back over her body, Clarke rolled onto her side and closed her eyes.Â
â...Clarke!â
In the bed, Clarke rolled onto her back, ânoâŠâ
Brunette curls fell over her face as the girl reached over the side of the cliff for her as far as she could, âget my hand!â
Clarke strained, but their fingers couldnât quite reach. A laugh split the night out of the black ravine under her. They both whipped a desperate gaze down toward it-
Clarke shot upright in bed, grabbing at the covers as she did, holding them to the hard pounding of her heart. She was sweating and she looked around real fast to discover to her astonishment that it dark in the room. It was night. She looked around again and grimaced at herself because apparently she had slept all day.
Unable to shake the last vestiges of the nightmare though, the terror she felt still tingling under her skin, Clarke sat back in her bed and rubbed at her face, âit was only a dream,â she told herself. But the nightmares had been coming since sheâd moved in here. But remembering the flashes of light and dark that highlighted panic in desperate green eyes, and the grind of teeth behind raised lips, Clarke choked back a sob. It didnât help either that lightning crashed and flashed outside and she whipped her head toward it as rain started to pelt against her the windows of her room hard. More fiercely this time Clarke said, âjust a dream.âÂ

She looked quickly over at Octavia in time to see her face pale. Wrinkling her forehead, Clarke stared at her, âdid you...what did you tell her?â She had a sneaking suspicion that maybe Raven didnât have time off after all. That maybe she rushed here instead.
The two looked at each other and Raven bit her lip as though she realised suddenly she said something that maybe she shouldnât have. Heaving a sigh and dropping her shoulders, Octavia fessed up, âjust that ...there was this girl that shook you up.â The two looked at each other again and sidled closer together.
Clarke stared at them in disbelief, âI am fine,â she said at last, faster than she meant to. But was she? Closing her eyes, she swallowed and looked away a little. She was riding for a buckle today. Why in the world did Lexa have to come back into her life now? Wait, Clarke felt her insides ache with the realization, Lexa wasnât even back in her life. She had just...showed up for the show. Not her.
âClarke..â Raven and Octavia said at the same time. And she whipped her head up to find them both studying her. As though deciding to risk it, Raven went on, âOctavia told me about her,â her eyes moved over her as she added gently, âand not just about last night, and I swear if that girl ever hurts you like that-â
âI am fine. It was a long time ago.â Clarke broke in, a little stronger and a little more determined now. She was lying. She knew she wasnât fine. Especially not when it came to Lexa. But she wasnât going to admit a damn thing. Not to anyone. Not even to them. The truth was she was worried that Lexa was going to leave again while at the same time part of her wanted her to. But part of her also wanted her to believe sheâd come back to see her even though that was as much a lie as her standing here and claiming to the two people who knew her best in the world that she was fine. She was so fucking mixed up right now that it wasnât even funny, âcan we justâŠâ Clarke looked over at the diner, âgo eat? Please?â she asked. They knew she was lying too. But she hoped they would drop it.
