Ballast Hills #Graveyard, #Ouseburn #newcastle This was a prominent #nonconformist site until it was closed in 1853 due to cholera. For a while there were more burials here than anywhere else in #newcastleupontyne After it closed, stones were used as the base of ovens in #tyneside flats. In the 1930s the remaining stones were used to make a path. Stones of dead ministers were resited at the back of what was a school. #neengland #history #gravestones #gravestonesfromthe1800s #tyneandwear #disusedgraveyard (at Newcastle upon Tyne)
