Kha had always wanted a family. But her dreams of raising children had died with Haurchefant that day. Or so she had thought.

Surely she was not meant to be a mother, undeserving even, she had thought. "My bloodstained hands are unfit for motherhood".

She had devoted herself to battle, to the realm.

And far too many battles she had yet to fight.

She was not ready for this "burden", given to her by Emet-Selch. Was this his final cruel joke? Beyond his death, told at her expense?

But on this day her world changed. When she held this precious little gift in her shaking arms, she changed.

From this moment on she had her own reason to fight. Not because some Primal or God had ordered her or because the pressure by her fellow Scions or herself demanded it.

On this day, for the first time since many moons, Kha felt true joy.

And she wondered

"Is there nothing more I can do? Is there truly no other way to use my powers? All those years I have spent fighting and killing for the greater good.

Surely I can use my strength to save, to protect, to heal.

I will. For you."
