QOTD: What is a country you would like to visit? ☁️ One of my favourite books that I picked up in May was Darius the Great is Not Okay by @adibkhorram! YA fantasy is one of my favourite genres and it's even better when it's diverse. ☁️ Inspired by Indian mythology, A Crown of Wishes by @roshanichokshi has everything I love: strong characters, hate to love romance, banter and a stunning underworld setting. ☁️ I loved this book even more than the first one which is The Star-Touched Queen. ☁️ This is one of my favourite reads of the year and a stunning #ownvoices book as well! Arranged marriages, pursuing your passion, coding, finding love young & the Indian culture. I LOVED WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI by @sandhyamenonbooks! ☁️ From struggling with parental expectations, to balancing your career and passion, to finding love at a young age, I found it to be extremely relatable. ☁️ I was a lot like Dimple at her age, focusing on what I wanted to achieve in life rather than finding love. A quick read but packs a punch in the most delightful way. #EveryHeartaDoorway is a book about a boarding school in an alternate reality between world's where kids can go for self-acceptance without judgement. From transgender, to gay and gender stereotypes, the book addresses so many important diverse topics. ☁️ What I really liked about the book was the concept as well, it felt so magical and whimsical. The murder mystery took me by surprise because I thought it was a younger read but it's not, people of all ages can definitely enjoy it. ☁️ If you're looking for a #diverserecs that really packs a punch, I really recommend it! Today I will indulge in the things that make me happy, like this book haul I got from @dymocksbrisbane @Dymocksbooks along with the free Harry Potter tote bag! Look after yourselves everyone. ☁️ #LabyrinthLost is a #diverserecs about Latinx death day celebrations filled with magic and mythos. The main character Alex, is also bisexual which we don't see often in books. ☁️ #TheSunisAlsoaStar is about a Korean boy who meets a Jamaican girl prior to her family getting deported.
