I spent an afternoon a few months ago researching US immigration and drew Danae’s greencard. My conclusions? Dang, it is hard to gain residence in this country, I am so grateful not to have gone through that process. And also, she was extremely lucky to be immigrating from France, where it is remarkably easier to get residence via the Diversity Immigration Program (aka the greencard lottery) than other countries.
