what would the protagonist of the glass divine rewrite be like? :D

the protagonist is known as the Seer in this story. she's probably going to be either 20 to 21ish? I'm a bit undecided on her age but I think I want her to be around there. I think she's going to be quite a bit meaner than the Pythia was at least early on. she's very stubborn and has more confidence in being the vessel for her goddess, although she still has been dehumanized to lack any sense of self identity like in the original story. she just is better at embracing her role as Seer and tries to use her position to threaten others more. she's also going to have a lot more anger, first at the Ghosts (the new name for the Deathlings) and later at her goddess and the institution she was raised in as her views begin to shift

while I'm tempted I don't think I'm going to reveal her name, although I do have it picked out :) I plan on using the same device I did in the og story with only referring to her in the narration as the Seer until her actual name starts to appear here and there as her sense of self identity begins to return and all that

very excited to see the world of glass again :3 i hope it's alright to ask - what will happen to dsmp glass? will it stay on ao3 forever? or only until the new one is complete? i've sort of fallen off the fandom, but it's still near and dear to my heart <3

well this is a long long ways off and might not ever happen, but once I have the draft of the rewrite completely finished and I've started the process of getting it published I'm going to be removing glass divine from ao3. if I don't I'll likely have a lot of issues with publishing and all that :(

Apologies if this has been answered already,but for the Glass Rewrite/Divine Rewrite are you going to keep the tattoo in there? And if so is it going to be the same design? Or something else?

I don't know yet! I'm still undecided as to if I'm going to keep the whole tattooing aspect of death worship in general. however, I do really like the themes of body ownership and self realization that are tied into the seer getting a tattoo so if it feels right I definitely want to keep it. as far as the design goes... again, maybe it'll be the same? maybe it won't. I'll have to wait and see how things shake out

I am here to ask the ‘important’ questions: are the dads gay? Are they friends? Is it a qpr? I assume they are close, but what is their realationship to each other aside from “we raised a child together” and “we are the leaders of this group”?

Also, the Ghosts. How many of them are there? Because you don’t like using oc’s in your fics, thus the only characters we have are named, but would that change? Are there a lot more people? Or is it the same small group?

Oh and who about the characters taking Jack and Niki’s roles? Does that still happen (because that’s kinda my favourite plot bit in the story, it gives way to so much character development)? If so are they still besties with that tragic backstory?

Yes Ana’s dads, Kestrel and Sujin, are in a relationship. They’re basically married in every way you can be married except legally, not just because they’re terrorists but also because they’re both of the mindset of “the government doesn’t need to know that” lmao

And I decided to keep the Ghosts a small group actually, so there’s only about 8 total? I’m working out the worldbuilding on that, there might be more offshoots of death worshippers in different parts of the country that have similar goals or it might be a case that the ghosts used to be a much larger rebel group but they were crushed down by the government, and Kestrel has been working to try and rebuild things from scratch. Something like that!

But yeah only 8 (which includes Kestrel Sujin and Ana) will be seen in the story. Besides those three, there’s Ames, Marie, Laurie, Poppy, and Hai

Laurie and Marie are my translation of rocketduo in this. They’re actually twins—brother and sister—and they’re both around 23/24 in the story. I do want to do a similar plot line to the whole murder attempt thing but obviously it’s going to play out differently because the characters are very different. Still working out the details on that but I’m excited to figure it out!

im living for this just know that like im having such a fun time hearing about them! i love seeing the characters references and like hearing about how they look and dress and like their personalities! i also love the detail about the seer not liking her hair being long and i can already imagine her having like a moment where she cuts it (even if you dont write a scene like that i am just imagining her like having that cathartic experience of getting to take control of her life by cutting her hair a lot like wilbur and the tattoo i guess) sorry im rambling i just love to think about characters even if i dont really know them all that well please let me know if it ever makes you uncomfortable too bc like these are your ocs :)

anyways ill stop asking you questions about the divine rewrite for now… ill probably be back with more as other people ask questions and i piggy back off of them or just as i come up with more! even if the rewrite never sees the light of day i think it sounds super cool and trust that if im not around to hear about it potentially getting published i’ll remember it down the line and go searching on the internet to see if i can find it :D

oh don't worry you're fine! I actually am planning on having a scene where the seer does eventually cut her hair as an act of reclaiming her body, I'm just not sure where in the story it'll happen but it'll definitely be in the latter half. so you nailed exactly what I was going for with that bit :)
