Hello Divine Travelers!
The last post we took you to Athens and now we want to share Mykonos, Greece! What a fun island with a lot of night life, white-washed walls, good food and great shopping.
As we walked through the streets of the Mykonos Town it was apparent why so many locals head here for their weekend getaway from the mainland. The quaintness of the town offers many hiding spots to spend the afternoon sipping on a frappe and munching down on local gyros. It was easy to fall in love with the winding streets that offered surprises in each turn of the route.
Sure you can spend hours walking through the town, shopping, eating at our personal favorite Pepper Mykonos for a quick souvlaki, and meandering around the port town but there is much more to this hip island. The infamous Psarou Beach hosts the notorious and outrageous beach club Nammos, suited for an expensive yet glamorous day at the beach. Only 5 minutes from Mykonos town, Psarou Beach is a quick bus ride over to go enjoy it's classically Greek waters with the stunning shades of turquoise. Staying at the Mykonos Blu, I could see why people wanted to spend their days by this beach- honestly the shades were mesmerizing.
A few nights on this chic island is a great way to get out, go have a few cocktails by the beach and enjoy a bustling nightlife with famed bars like Astra and the Scandinavian Disco. The lively town will keep you up till the wee hours of the morning and of course there are plenty of spas to choose from to spend your recovering mornings at.
Overall the island is a great destination to be social, enjoy good food and a taste of nightlife in Greece.
