Hello Divine Travelers,
Our fourth stop in Europe was the infamous Amalfi Coast. The beauty of the lush green mountains to the scenic views of the Mediterranean Sea were a dream. Each corner of the Amalfi Drive had a new surprise for each turn and it was hard not to look out the window the whole time.
We loved stopping in the towns of Ravello, Amalfi, Positano, and Sorrento. The first stop and well known town out of the Italian coastline treasures is the quaint destination of Sorrento. Known for limoncello, lively street music, and a bustling marketplaces, Sorrento is the destination for everyone. Each corner holds surprising new flavors of gelato, a new memorabilia with the famous lemon designed on it, and of course cafes you can smell a mile away. This town holds as the gateway to many popular destinations through the coastline of Italy. Only 30 minutes away from Ravello, Positano, and Amalfi, it makes for a great home base for indulging in the Mediterranean lifestyle. For those who crave a little adventure on the waters, the island of Capri is just a ferry ride away and can be easily experienced in just a day's worth of time.
Here's some highlights for each town:
Ravello: Giardini di Villa Rufolo- known for cascading gardens Villa Cimbrone- 11th century villa with famous gardens Cathedral- dates back to 1806 and is focal point of the town square
Amalfi: Duomo di Sant'Andrea Apostolo- well known cathedral Valle delle Ferriere- a hike through one of the famous valleys with scenic views and waterfalls Chiostro del Paradiso- breathtaking Moorish-style cloisters that have 120 marble columns Cathedral de Amalfi- the cathedral at the center of the main square Beach club- spend a day on the beach enjoying the sun and water
Positano: Montepertuso- a village perched high about the bay with incredible scenic views Spiaggia del Fornillo- the main beach at the bay of Positano, a great place to sunbathe Emerald Grotto- take a boat to go explore the famous caves along the coastline
The Amalfi coast is a destination filled with romance, great cuisine and a lot of Italian Culture. A definite spot for a honeymooon or destination wedding!
Hello Divine Travelers!
Our third stop in the Europe tour was to the lovely island of Santorini. We spent a few nights in Imerogvigli then over to Oia. The island is known for stunning sunsets and beautiful views.
The days were meant to be taken slow and easy. Rising with the sun and enjoying the fresh air that comes off the waters and climbs the cliff’s edge. It would be practical to enjoy a classic Greek breakfast with fresh feta cheese, a local hummus, and of course a sampling of fresh fish. We could of spent every hour by the infinity pool’s edge just watching each ripple fade away into the distance across the Caldera. Arriving in the first week of October, the weather in Santorini was the perfect balance of sun and shade. It fared well for all of the things to do in Oia. One afternoon was spent exploring the town, the next making the hike down to the sea port of Amoudi Bay just to jump in the rivaling dark waters. Being on the Oia side of Santorini meant being further away from the majority of the crowds from the cruise ships so it was less busy then say Thira. After a few days spent capturing magical sunsets, tasting the white wines of Santorini and embracing the Greek culture, it is safe to say we fell in love with Santorini.
There is so much to take in while you are in Oia. We loved walking up and down the streets taking photos of the architecture, hopping into the boutique stores to shop, taking long lunches and of course laying by the pool. For those looking to explore, you can easily take a taxi to popular destinations across the island like the red beach, wine tasting, Thira and other towns along the way. One way to experience Santorini is by boat and sailing on the Aegean Sea. The drastic views looking back are breath-taking and you can stop along the way to hop in the water and explore places you can only get to by foot. Of course there’s always the classic donkey ride up the steps which you can do from Amoudi Bay. However you choose to enjoy Oia, Santorini be sure to relax and take in the scenery.
Hello Divine Travelers!
The last post we took you to Athens and now we want to share Mykonos, Greece! What a fun island with a lot of night life, white-washed walls, good food and great shopping.
As we walked through the streets of the Mykonos Town it was apparent why so many locals head here for their weekend getaway from the mainland. The quaintness of the town offers many hiding spots to spend the afternoon sipping on a frappe and munching down on local gyros. It was easy to fall in love with the winding streets that offered surprises in each turn of the route.
Sure you can spend hours walking through the town, shopping, eating at our personal favorite Pepper Mykonos for a quick souvlaki, and meandering around the port town but there is much more to this hip island. The infamous Psarou Beach hosts the notorious and outrageous beach club Nammos, suited for an expensive yet glamorous day at the beach. Only 5 minutes from Mykonos town, Psarou Beach is a quick bus ride over to go enjoy it's classically Greek waters with the stunning shades of turquoise. Staying at the Mykonos Blu, I could see why people wanted to spend their days by this beach- honestly the shades were mesmerizing.
A few nights on this chic island is a great way to get out, go have a few cocktails by the beach and enjoy a bustling nightlife with famed bars like Astra and the Scandinavian Disco. The lively town will keep you up till the wee hours of the morning and of course there are plenty of spas to choose from to spend your recovering mornings at.
Overall the island is a great destination to be social, enjoy good food and a taste of nightlife in Greece.
Hello Divine Travelers,
As we made our way home from Europe we opted for a one night layover in Paris so we could run into the city, see some of the top places, indulge in good food and have a Parisian night.
We stopped by the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame, walked the streets of Saint-Germaine, had an eclair, walked some more, shopped some more, and then of course had a macaroon from Laduree. We love Paris for many reasons.
It is so romantic to walk the streets and take in the scenery. It is a wonderful destination for romance, culture and great experiences. A must stop for any honeymoon or destination weddings!
Hello Divine Travelers!
This past month we spent some time traveling through some of the best hotels in Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, and the Amalfi Coast of Italy. We absolutely loved each destination for different reasons. The first destination we want to share with you is Athens!
When traveling in Greece, most itineraries stop in Athens for flight connections. Often an afterthought or a bucket list check off, Athens gets past by as just a stop over. This city is deserving of one night and even more. Just coming back from Greece, we wish we could have spent two more nights in Athens. There is so much to see and experience in this city. It is a wonderful and historical place that holds excitement on every street corner. There are a lot of myths of Athens being a dirty city and we found that to be terribly wrong. Yes it is a city, so you will find graffiti, occasional trash, and other basic aspects of a city but in general we found it to be quite clean and pleasant.
As we walked up the Acropolis to the Parthenon, we enjoyed a few side streets and local vendors. There is only one way to the Parthenon; up. To explain, the acropolis is considered the highest point in a city and the Parthenon is the structure at the top of the acropolis in Athens. There is a structure to denote the Acropolis of Athens but it is side by side to the Parthenon. As you walk up the hill, there are plenty historical sites to see and many ruins. When you get to the top, the views are breathtaking. Taking in the city of Athens and all of it's emerging history is something that cannot be described but needs to be experience. There is this feeling that you are taken back in time to a pivotal point of history.
After seeing most of the main ruins in the city, we walked through the historical city of Plaka. Cute, winding streets with colorful grand doors and boutiques decorated this cherished area of Athens. There is so much to see here and you could spend a few hours just visiting this little neighborhood. Of course a street Gyro is a must while in Athens so be sure to grab one at the local cafe.
As the evening unwinded, we took a quick return to the hotel to freshen up, then back out we went. We would recommend a restaurant with a view of the Parthenon for dinner. At night the whole Acropolis lights up and is a site to see. One of the best views in town is from the restaurant on the top floor at the Grand Bretagne. You will find yourself looking out the whole time rather than at your food.
Athens is a destination to put on your itinerary if you find yourself grasping for a historical experience filled with the very culture that defines Greece. Walking through the streets of Plaka, seeing the old world ruins and enjoying fine cuisine is the very way to spend a fulfilled 24 hours in Athens.
Stay tuned for more posts on our time in Europe!

The hardest working men in #tourism or at least the strongest. #Santorini they carry luggage up and down hundreds of stairs numerous times a day. They are very impressive and I am so grateful for them. I can't imagine having to carry my own luggage that far.
An authentic and sophisticated boutique resort. Catering to luxury clients, foodies and spa clients seeking romance and high touch service.
