I just wanna say. GOD! I love ocs!! What a wonderful and beautiful creation of the human mind.
The ultimate expression of human thought, free will, and creative freedom. We can make whatever and whoever we want, we can design them however we want. We can write epic stories about them and draw beautiful works of art. An oc is truly the pinnacle of artistic freedom and I am so glad they exist as a concept.
Image how ordinary and drab things would be without the ability to make an original character to tell a story about. To have them be a source of inspiration and expression! Being able to do whatever you want!
And another cool thing about them is that they grow and develop with you!! Being able to give a beloved oc a visual update that does them justice as you wanted when you were younger is such an accomplishing feeling!
Original characters are just such a cool fucking concept and I’m so glad humanity has the ability to make them. Truly the greatest example of humanity’s creativity.

I wanna talk a bit about these Boothill assignments. They are kinda all over the place on how they present him. I like to think the ones classifying him as a criminal have obviously been somewhat embellished to make him seem more nasty than he really is. I mean it’s the IPC I don’t expect them to be truthful in their presentation of details regarding Boothill.
There are a few assignments that show him as a do gooder, he even tries to help from a medical standpoint when that isn’t his strong suit. He has chased off bandits and destroyed traps used by poachers. This man is definitely one of good morals just does so through not the most righteous ways. In fact I would argue these assignments just confirm what we all already knew, Boothill is definitely Chaotic Good to possibly Lawful Neutral, and by his and Lan’s ideas of what “law” should be. These assignments also reveal a more gentle and tender side to him that I think people fail to recognize is there.
Though I will say it again this man is an absolute menace. I cannot wait for his banner. He is such a fun character.

Like, we know his backstory so the layer of anger we are picking up on when he says that line hits so much harder. Only those in the know would understand the meaning of the tone!!! Also I didn't get a screenshot of it. But at some point Robin says Boothill lives up to the title of a righteous Galaxy Ranger and Boothill says he doesn't care about who does good or evil, just that justice gets served to those who deserve it....but like you can tell yourself that bitch. I know deep down you care about that shit. You wouldn't be going after the IPC as a whole if you didn't care, you say your going after Oswaldo so justice gets served....but like you target the IPC as a whole cause you know they do bad. I honestly feel that Boothill doesn't see himself as a hero because he knows he is letting rage and anger full his desire for bloodshed....but like. Dude, its fueled by this desire to ultimately stop bad. You cannot tell me that Boothill won't continue after the IPC even when he kills Oswaldo. He's seen what they can do. Another Oswaldo will just rise to take his place, like a hydra. You've got to take out the whole thing to truly stop it. "I don't care about who does good or evil" is total hog wash.
Also didn't catch it because it happened so fast. But the words that Boothill saw that said something about a bullet and that grabbing him so damn hard. I do enjoy when writers have their characters show bits of the PTSD that we know is there without it being explicitly said.

I really do hope that Primitive kicks the bucket at the end of this though. Like this is a really nice story and he has been an overarching threat since we read about him in the Galaxy Rangers lore log and since Boothill mentioned him in 2.2. But I really don't want him to get away, we have so many overarching threats as it is, and we already know about Primitive. I would like him to have his whole story here and then get unalived at the end of it. It just makes sense to me and I feel would complete the arch they are building for Rappa right now, quite well.

I know that this is only for 2.6. But I would lowkey love it if someone in the IPC just went "You know lets change his beacon settings to this for a time". I just think the sensor is funny and I wish it was a gag where it would change to something else more ridiculous every once in a blue moon. This poor man is endlessly tormented by the damn thing.
The townsfolk trying to get that Monkey Fanclub people to not intrude on their land or land that isn't rightfully theirs being the first thing in the Boothill part of the quest just hits. Like that fucking parallel right out of the gate. I may be overinterpreting but this has to be a nod to Boothill's backstory. Just this idea that it haunts him everywhere he goes in the form of coming upon people who had a similar struggle to his home world.

The man’s spelling mistakes when texting is actually because he is too inpatient to type words out. He uses the text to speech option and his phone’s AI cannot get a read on his speech pattern because of his metallic vocal tone and so autocorrects or fudges the words he is trying to say. Boothill, because he is inpatient, doesn’t check over what the AI has put together until after he has already sent it.
(I just think he feels it’s a waste of time to type out a whole paragraph when AI can write it for him, allows him to multitask better.)
The man has the ability to tank these mistakes, which would otherwise make people like me crumble under the social anxiety from it. He is not fazed whatsoever by the autocorrect, no shred of embarrassment is ever felt. (Though it’s really just annoyance at the AI).
Damn it must be nice to not have social anxiety where you have to read what you write 20 times before sending it.
