I heard one of the questions for Kubo’s Q and A is was what division he’d like to be in. Kubo’s answer was he didn’t really want to be in in the Gotei 13 (too demanding) but, if he had to choose he’d pick the thirteenth division because Ukitake is most likely to understand if he was down with a cold. The others wouldn't be so understanding.

Did you get my long winded message with suggestions on who could be Birkhoff to clear Claudia as Alex? Plus there exists Mikita scenes which do not need the others. Alley scene, one handed fight scenes, "I just dont like who you work for" scene...

I did - and apparently forgot to reply. *lol* Sorry about that!

The main problem is that I'm locked into Claudia as Birkhoff. It's hard to explain, but no one else fits right - not even Artie, who has the closest thing to the right skill set. (Fargo just... isn't right, either, and I've got Todd cast in Sonya's spot.)

I'm sure I'll sort it out, but writing in that AU is going to be incredibly frustrating until I do - I'll pretty much be confined to random scenes here and there that work around my casting problems, when I *really* want to do something longer and more complicated for it. (Like, I don't know, converting the whole Nikita pilot instead of just random scenes...)

It also means it's going to be pretty far down on the list of NaNoWriMo alternatives.

Heh. That ain't happening  - not in any real depth - until I find the Warehouse equivalent of Alexandra Udinov. Seeing as I need Claudia for Birkhoff's spot, I'm kind of at an impasse...

And I read it :) And Helena shooting Myka was as much of a shock as watching Michael shoot Nikita. What would induce you to also write the ending alley scene from the pilot?

It's one of the scenes I've looked at converting, actually. :) Right now, I'm just kinda stuck trying to decide what to work on - I've got AUs on top of AUs, all of them awesome, and I still have The Hawk And The Wolf to finish before NaNoWriMo in November...
