They’re split up the way they are based on what group they travel with! Although they’re all a ““set”” of dragons, lore-wise they aren’t related beyond friendly relationships like those that the members of the various groups in the Wanderers share.
Di and Huo are Aelyn’s mercenary partners. In terms of MMORPG role terms (because i’m a trash nerd sorry), Di acts as the party’s primary tank (and also crowd control), while Aelyn’s an evasive off-tank and helps with DPS. Huo’s their primary DPS - she fights kind of like a rogue who just so happens to also know some pretty bamfass fire magic. :3c
Shui and Mu travel with the Fairfeather, my pirate crew. Both are in it for the adventure, and when the wind or sea or weather isn’t favorable, act as the ship’s propulsion by making the wind or sea or weather favorable. Shui stills the seas and creates surface currents, while Mu shoos off storms and whips up winds to fill their sails. (aka. mu’s focused largely in the way that wu xing wood relates to wind, though rest assured she’s also got a good bit of ~planty magic~ that just doesn’t see a lot of use out in the ocean)
The last of the set and the last that’s missing would be Jin, my dragon for metal, and I just haven’t gotten around to getting a dragon for them yet! They’ll be an Ice dragon and will travel with Sesha. uwub
