Hadley knew Dixie Smith, but she wasn’t exactly best friends with the girl. Definitely not close enough that Dixie would be able to play any kind of ‘girl code’ card against Hadley for dating her twin brother, but close enough that they’d had plenty of interactions over the years. That didn’t mean Hadley didn’t care about her, though, and she wasn’t the kind of girl to avoid people unless she absolutely had to. When she found herself standing outside the restroom in a line of people, she expected to keep herself entertained by her phone. Before she even got the gadget out, though, Hadley was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of none other than her date’s twin sister. “Dixie, hey,” she said, smiling happily. “You look amazing, by the way. Such a cute costume. I love the originality, too.”
