Brownells… Not Just Firearms & Accessories

Now in this blog article, I’m going to brag a little bit about the folks over at Brownells. I’ve been a customer of theirs for around 20 years now. Most people when they think about Brownells and what they have to offer, they immediately think about firearms, firearms accessories, reloading supplies and ammunition. Yes they’ve got all of that and then some. As a matter of fact, my early dealings with Brownells were specifically revolving around firearm parts as well as reloading supplies. I’ve had a dealer account with them since the late 2000’s I believe and they’ve always provided excellent prices and services for anything I’ve picked up from them when in need. But they truly do have so much more to offer than just the things I mentioned above.

Brownells carries quite a bit of apparel as well. T shirts and hats come to mind of course. They also have some belts too, but one of the coolest things that Brownells has been doing for quite some time is an annual collaboration with the folks over at Dixxon Flannel. Over the past 5 years or so, possibly longer they have been releasing a special flannel with a firearm related theme along with Dixxon. Typically these special run flannel will be sold on both Dixxon’s website as well as Brownell’s website. These are also a limited run and once they’re sold out, they’re gone forever. The vast majority of Dixxon apparel is this same way which lends to somewhat of a collectability nature of their flannel in the first place. One of the special Brownells and Dixxon flannel collaboration was their ”Six Gun” flannel. This was a throwback to those big six shooter pistols from yesteryear. Another similarly themed flannel with a totally different color scheme was their “Big Iron” flannel. Dixxon makes some of the best quality flannel available so it’s awesome to see Brownells go with a company with a reputation for that kind of quality.

For this year, 2024 Brownells and Dixxon released the Brownells Paterson flannel which I’m wearing as I type this. It’s a quality shirt with hues of green, brown and gold or tan. All of their flannel will have the Brownells logo on the left pocket and a large logo under the collar on the inside with the overall theme for the flannel. The hang tag which also has the theme is also a sticker which I think is a very nice touch. I’ve found that many of the Brownells and Dixxon flannel lend themselves to some of my firearms and are quite photogenic, so I will often times use them as back drops depending upon the kind of work I’m trying to accomplish. Brownells does offer some of their own branded hoodies, hats and shirts as well. I do have a number of those, but I never miss the opportunity to pick up the latest Dixxon flannel collaboration.

Hopefully Brownells continues this trend with Dixxon. I always notice that the popular sizes sell out relatively quick, so you’re got to jump on it. I wonder what the flannel for next year will look like?
