NO MORE SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER
Okay guys check this out. My hair is INSANELY oily right? Like its terrible. When I wash my hair, it gets oily in less than 12 hours and I go through so much dry shampoo it’s ridiculous and it costs me so much money.
So I was looking at home remedies online and a bunch suggested just washing your hair with baking soda and water? IT WORKS AMAZINGLY. You have to follow with an acidic rinse (I do apple cider vinegar and water to follow) and my dudes my hair is looking better than it ever has. Try it out yourselves if you have oily hair of if you just want to ditch shampoo and let me know how it works for you!
1. Wet your hair. You can either do this in the shower and then get back out or you can do it with an empty spray bottle. Your hair doesn’t have to be soaked, it just needs to be wet enough so the baking soda mixture stays.
2. Mix baking soda and water into a paste. You can experiment with the amount of each you use but honestly I just guesstimate every time (it’s not really an exact science). http://amzn.to/2nQkfUy
3. You’re then going to slather your roots with the paste. If you have more hair, use more, shorter hair, use less.
4. Leave it in. You can leave it for just a couple of minutes (1-3) if you’ve already washed your hair recently, or if your hair is REALLY oily, you can leave it in for like a half an hour. I just put my hair up in a bun and watch some TV or draw and set a timer!
5. Rinse it out. You’re going to want to rinse twice to make sure all of the baking soda is out of your hair. If there’s any left, it will cause your scalp to produce even more oil.
6. Follow with acidic rinse. I then follow with a half and half water and apple cider vinegar mixture. This is a natural conditioner (that you can add castile oil to, for scent) that works wonders on your hair. This you can leave in for about a minute or up to 10 minutes. I usually put it in a squeeze bottle from the Christmas Tree Shop or Walmart for easy application. http://amzn.to/2nolTJQ
That’s all you need guys! This is SO good for your hair because it helps your scalp properly balance it’s oil output. Regular shampoos and conditioners strip the oil from your scalp and mess with the pH balance. It’s also SUPER cheap!
