I’M POSTING THIS FROM MY COMPUTER WHICH IS IN THE STUDIO OMG OMG
...ALSO THERE’S A BIG OL WINDOW WITH NO CURTAINS AND ALMOST NO OTHER FURNITURE AND OKAY IT’S SORT OF WEIRD
With the big bookcase into the studio and out of the dining room, there was room to hang a new display thingy for minis! The thing's been leaning against the living room wall for a month, but now it's up and inhabited, along with a new, smaller case for game books. Makes it much less cramped in there.
I would rather be at home staining baseboard.
No surprise.
1 piece is attached, 4 pieces are in the stand-condition-stain-oilx4 process. 5 pieces of baseboard remain to cut and fit. Then 3 pieces of door casing, and two chimney verticals, and I can move in.
It won't be done, but I can move in. Window trim is possible around furniture. Baseboard really isn't.
State of the Studio
All those things that are waiting for the studio to be finished are inching closer. I'm staining and oiling trim! I'm borrowing a chop-saw from Neighbor M on Friday, and I should be able to actually install the first piece that day!
Since I'm starting in one place and fitting it one bit at a time -- at least for now -- I only have one bit in the staining/oiling process. After that's on the wall I'll cut the next sections -- a long wall with a scarf joint (two pieces) and the short section between the current bit and the chimney, plus the chimney trim. Have to cope at least two of those.
Oh, and also?
I HAVE MY DOOR!!!!
Dad I fetched it home in the pouring rain, swaddled in shrink wrap, and it's leaning against the chimney. Dad has no time to help me actually install it, though, so I have to watch how-to videos and decide whether I think Xed and I can handle it, or I need to ask Neighbor J (the one with all the veggies) for more professional help. Or Neighbor M, actually... I have capable neighbors!
