Yay! Another week has been and gone! Time to celebrate and enjoy the weekend ahead. This TGIF post is about a very simple DIY project you can do for any dinner party. We decided that we were tired of using the same old placemats for our dinner parties and thought it was time to do something about it and make our own. This project is really fun because you can really get creative and design your placemats to match with the theme and décor of your party.
A3 sketchpad paper (Make sure your paper is thick so it can protect your table from spills and scratches)
For our first placemat design we went with a fun simple place setting. This design was very quick because I simply traced the outline of a plate, glass and basic cutlery.
For our second design we thought it would be nice to write our guests name on the placemat so they would know where to sit. We kept the design fun and whimsical with sketches and doodles, but I have to admit it took a lot longer than expected.
If you like you can also get your placemats laminate and give them to your guests as gifts at the end of the night. Hey, it might be worth something one day!
Another idea is to write out your menu for the evening on your placemat or even put pens and crayons on the table for guests to design their own. Who knows this could be the start of dinner art jam?
I hope this post has inspired you to get creative with your dinner parties. Until the end of next week!
