Great news! We broke open the Mysterious Bathroom Void and there's no body in it! Always a positive in a remodel.
This is what my bathroom looked like on Dec. 6, after two good friends and I happened to it.
I hadn't realized these pics were languishing in my drafts! Just in case anyone saw 'bathroom remodel' and thought I meant 'hanging new curtains' or something. There was some very exciting building archeology, like the two-part stud, the twine-and-masking-tape pipe bracket, and the cabinet-doors-make-great-subfloor-actually. Not to mention the four-foot-long hole to the freezing underhouse.
We were showering at home again on Dec. 23. I'm still a bit dazed.
I am definitely feeling the demolition work this morning, mostly in my janky elbows. I feel like the OT who prescribed carefully lifting one pound weights would not be pleased with my choices.
Even if the hammer I used is the same hammer I use as my one-pound therapy weight.
Houses: A Song
I cut my windowsills perfectly, tra la!
My house will be more finished, tra la!

TRA LA
I started writing an amusing ‘how to’ about removing ballasts from tube light fixtures, remembered I didn’t actually know what the hell I was doing, stopped writing, managed to get everything installed anyway wired totally different from the other one but they both work, and then I put in the tubes and they look different.
I’m not sure if it’s color temperature or color rendering that’s at fault, but it’s really frustrating because I thought I ordered the same product. I’ll check them without the covers on in case those are making the difference, but I think it’s the lamps. One of the new lamps isn’t as bright as it’s supposed twin, either.
Oh, and I’m pretty sure some screws I thought were into wood are only into drywall.
I’ll have some work to do on my lighting situation when we get back from our trip. :|
PLUMBING.
Just... anything involving plumbing.
I am not very good at quidditch.
I ended up with this instead of a snitch:
