For this edition of Devil's Pie we were honored to host the Los Angeles release party for Oliver Wang's (DJ O-Dub)new book Legions Of Boom.
“Legions of Boom” revisits the heyday of the Filipino American mobile DJ crews who ran a massive party scene in the Bay Area during the 1980s. Staffed primarily by high school teenagers, these crews created a defining cultural activity for their generation and was the original proving ground for the mixmasters who’d go onto lead the turntablist movement.
