Visiting DJ had become incredibly common for Cin now. There really wasn’t a single day where they weren’t backstage at least once at some point in time. Even now, despite knowing DJ had a show for a teen birthday party, they still mosied backstage to antagonize him regardless of what he was doing later on. There was still a half hour to spare before the scheduled show time. Cin thought he could use the company.
“Hellooooo~ Where’s my favourite twenty foot tall DJ~?” They called out.
To their surprise, he wasn’t yet in his larger casing. DJ wandered in his more appropriately sized form and came over to greet them. He was hiding behind the curtain, presumably because he was about to transfer over; but of course, Cin’s presence brought him out instead and he was happy to indulge in conversation with them at any time.
“Favourite? When did I become your favourite?” He inquired, walking over to them.
“You act like both of us weren’t overly excited to meet each other the moment they finished your upgrades. You’ve been my favourite, nerd.” They replied, flopping down on the couch.
“Aaah, I’m honoured then! Though I thought I would get at least a brief moment’s peace before the show. It seems I was wrong.” He said in jest.
“Pff, shut the hell up. You enjoy my company too much to mean that.” They snorted.
“Ugh, you’re right, I do. Messing with you is actually one of my favourite pastimes too.” He noted.
Playfully, DJ bent down and jabbed at Cin on the couch. To his surprise, they reacted with a loud yelp and scooted off to the side away from his hand. They then shot him a sideways glance of horror and rubbed the spot where he poked in an attempt to rid themselves of the feeling. This was interesting indeed, and they had his full attention now.
“Geez, hasn’t anyone ever taught you to keep your hands to yourself?” They scoffed.
“Oh my god. You’re ticklish!” DJ gasped upon realizing what he had done.
“Yeah and? Isn’t everyone? Keep ya digits to yourself you hooligan!” Cin said defensively.
Boy, they did not like the sudden look in DJ’s eyes though. Those glasses of his did no favour to hide the sudden and intensifying glow of his eyes. Not only could it be seen on his face behind the glasses, but they could totally see each pupil through the shades easily. Cin did not like the way his hands raised up, nor the way he stepped forwards towards them. The situation… was no longer in their favour.
“Don’t you dare.”
“You see, normally I would agree. Not today though.” DJ chuckled darkly.
‘H-hey! Ack! B-back off you fiend!” Cin fretted, shuffling back on the couch.
How unfortunate. Naturally, DJ wanted to explore this little discovery. The loud, relatively crude bundle of cuss words and energy that was Cin, had a weakness. He felt it was time to smother all that tough guy attitude down.
Cin may have had a chance if they backed off of the couch and ran quicker, but they were conflicted and became trapped before they could decide. DJ crawled onto the couch and towered above them, getting straight to the point and poking at their sides. There was a fight for a moment as they fended off his attacks between little suppressed yelps, but he of course had the aid of multiple hands on his side. When Cin went in for one more jab of defiance he caught their fists with his higher pair of hands and held onto them firmly, sitting atop their legs to prevent any kicking. They were completely disarmed, and he had two extra hands to get to work with.
“Unfair! This is unfair you have too many liIIMBS! Stahahap!” Cin rambled in a futile attempt to change his mind.
He really took his time to enjoy how quickly Cin’s composure fell apart. A couple of pokes to their side and they were already lost in a fit of giggles. If poking did so much, he wondered how they’d react to a real tickle attack, so he decided to find out. He gave their sides some mean squeezes, earning a whole string of cuss filled laughter from them.
“You’re an asshohohole!”
“Oh you are just the cutest~. Not so tough now, are ya~?” He teased, scribbling his fingers over their ribs.
“F-fuck ohohoff!” They retaliated, trying to free their hands.
“Nah~. I’ll keep going. I mean, it’s convenient how all your weakest spots are out in the open for me to see, so why wouldn’t I indulge in this delight~?”
“NooOOHOHO!”
Cin was in stitches by now. DJ had taken their hands and gathered them into one of his, giving him three tools to tease with now as he honed in on their hips, digging into the little groove on either side. They overflowed with snorts and laughter, their cheeks a shade of vivid red that DJ did not think a human could take on. He was having too much fun, and used his third free hand to gently trace over their tummy, overloading them with the tickly sensations to the point where they no longer could form words. Trapped beneath him, all they could do was laugh and get even redder, trying their damndest to escape his attack. No matter which way they wiggled though, they were trapped, laughing more than they ever had in years.
A breather was finally granted after a few more minutes of enduring his ticklish assault. The one thing that stopped him was the chanting of anxious and excited teens from outside, reminding him that he still had a show to go on with. Though he was reluctant to do so, he stopped tickling them and let them breathe, really taking in how red their cheeks were before he let them go and got off the couch.
“You’re so lucky I’ve got a show to carry on with. You’re safe for now.” DJ said menacingly.
“Gah! Y-you’re so mean.” Cin whined, curling up and clutching a nearby pillow as if to protect themselves.
“Hahah! I’d argue, but I’m not sure you could have good counterpoints with cheeks as red as yours.” He laughed, making his way back to the curtain covered area.
Cin stuck their tongue out at his back while he went off and transferred over into his twenty foot tall casing. It was still a very much appreciated gimmick to use that form, so he used it often while he had the chance to. Surprisingly, kids loved his massive form. When he re-emerged from behind the curtain, he had to laugh again, because Cin still prominently glared at him while a vivid blush sat on their cheeks. The only change was now they were flipping him off.
“Heh~ So are you gonna be back here the whole time?” He asked, redirecting the conversation to lessen the weight of embarrassment on them.
“Mhmm.” They nodded, retracting their finger. “That was my original purpose. I like to watch without being mobbed.”
“Then enjoy to your heart’s content, you big softie~”
“Get your ass on stage before I fight you.” They threatened.
“Cin, I am literally twenty feet tall.”
“And? I’ll clock you and steal your glasses fool.” They insisted.
“Sure, cutie.”
“GOOOO!”
DJ snickered the whole time and quickly made his way to the stage, leaving Cin behind as a flustered mess. They grumbled and groaned into the pillow they clutched until cheers and music could be heard. Briefly, they rubbed all the very open spots on their body to try and get rid of the phantom tickles they felt still lingering. Their outfit truly did reveal all their worst spots, save for one. There was a moment where Cin considered changing their outfit, but reconsidered, wondering what it would take to get him to do that again.
After one more growl into the pillow Cin cleared their head and got up, slowly making their way to the stage. They hid behind a wall and leaned on it so the crowd wouldn’t see them, but they could still see DJ. He was of course massive as ever, and it was admittedly cool as hell to see him working with such a massive turntable. A tiny smile crept up on their face as they watched him get into the groove of things, almost forgetting how embarrassed they were mere minutes ago.
While they stood there, DJ turned around and noticed them staring up at him. He gave a discreet wave with two fingers and a smile to indicate he was aware of their presence, and was happy to see what he would consider a shy wave in return. No middle fingers, no tongue, just a tiny smile and a wave back. The grin he wore would be impossible to wipe off for the rest of the show now, that was a sure fact. He returned his attention to the crowd below, but made sure to give the bass a good extra crank up, knowing how much Cin appreciated a good bass rumble. They very much did appreciate it, feeling the music through the wall as they listened on.
“Fucking hell…” They muttered to themselves. “I’m catching feelings… aren’t I? Can I even…”
They were conflicted. Unsure. They did not know if these were good feelings, feelings to act upon, or if they were just being dumb. He was an animatronic. There’s no way that could work… right? It just wasn’t realistic. But.. His sentience, the feeling of his casing, and every damned interaction with him screamed otherwise. Cin glanced at their fazwatch and glared down at the still increasing heart rate that pushed over 110.
A/N: There's weed in this. Fair warning. So uh. Yeah anyway welcome to my relationship with music and why I consider it a main form of communication with me.
Description: Cin was not so sneakily trying to go out for a hoot. DJ insisted they take it somewhere safer though, and let them get roasted backstage. The rip lead to a jam session between them, and also revealed a couple little things Cin didn't know about him just yet.

There really was no discreet way they could sneak out for a quick rip. What, with the over dramaticized tiptoeing across a totally empty arcade while holding a bright orange and pink faded bong, it wasn’t exactly sneaky. It wasn’t even needed; the place was empty, so why they insisted on going about finding the back door to a hidden room to smoke from said bong was beyond anyone. They were just that kind of goofy fool. It was quite comical to witness. DJ could vouch for that, considering he stood dead center in the arcade and watched Cin slink along the walls like the creature they were.
He watched for a moment as they continued to creep around. They weren’t even really trying to hide the fact that they were holding a bright orange and pink bong, and eventually he couldn’t hold back the snort of laughter that had built up inside him. The sound of course alerted Cin to his presence, and a guilty little grin broke out on their face as they froze in place and slowly turned their head towards him.
“Where do you think you’re going with such a brightly coloured piece of glassware?” DJ asked with a smirk, approaching them.
“... Smoke break…” They answered sheepishly.
“You creep around like the substance is still illegal you bozo.” He laughed. “C’mere. Instead of creeping into a back room, come backstage. There’s a vent that leads directly outside so fire alarms won’t trigger.”
“Huh, sounds to me like you’re just looking for an excuse to hang out with me.” Cin retorted, quickly getting their sass back.
“Maybe. What if I am?” He replied while crossing his arms.
“Oh nothing~. Nothin' at all, DJ. Alright, I’m coming.” They laughed, amused by how he didn’t deny it.
Once they agreed to come with him they stopped carrying their bong like a delicate forbidden piece of glass and straightened up, following DJ to go backstage. It was quite hilarious how their bond had grown so much to the point where he would bring them to places for a quick hit. Only true buds would help each other out when getting high like that. Following close behind him, he led them straight backstage to their usual hangout spot and pointed to the back wall in a corner. A vent sat fixated in the wall about six feet up, a gentle current running through it that carried the air outside. That was the sacred spot, and Cin was delighted.
“Ohoho, you are right indeed. This is perfect.” Cin cackled excitedly. “I could potato out once I take this hit. Are you fine with me passing out back here?”
“Be my guest. It was my suggestion.” He nodded.
“Cool. If management comes looking for me, cover my ass as well please, ahah~” They grinned, grabbing an amp to stand on and reach the vent.
DJ shook his head and watched as Cin indulged in their pass time by the vent. Doing a quick scan of staff notes in the database, he came to realize that everyone was completely fine with them smoking because of how incessantly respectful about it they were. Cin always went outside or found a secluded place where no one would be disturbed by the smell, and made sure they only did it after the daycare was closed to reduce the chances of a kid seeing them. It was also a stress management aid as displayed in their file, so there was one more completely valid reason for them to use the recreational substance. A side note in their file though was quite funny, and he had to bring it up with them.
“Cin, why’d you write in your file under the notes section ‘helps me chill tf out because I’m too much to handle’?” He snickered, sitting down on the couch backstage.
Cin was mid bong rip, so they couldn’t answer right away. They only cleared half the bowl and exhaled into the vent, leaning inside of it to have a rancid coughing fit before they came back out and looked over at him.
“Why? Cause it’s true. You’ve met me. I’m a lot to handle.” They scoffed. “I literally don’t shut up, so this is usually a good way to get me to calm down and sometimes even think more clearly if I only smoke a little.”
“Aw, c’mon, you’re not too much.”
“You say that now. Just you wait. You’ll find me insufferable in a few more weeks.” They snorted, leaning back inside the vent to finish off the bowl.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about that~”
DJ watched as Cin cleared the bowl in one more hit, coughing up a storm as they exhaled into the vent. He almost got up to check on them with how bad they were coughing, but a quick system scan told him they were fine while they backed out of the vent and put their bong on the floor. The weed took effect quite quickly, a hazed look on their face as they slowly dragged their feet back to the couch where he sat.
“Kay I’m good now.” They sighed, flopping down on the couch next to him.
“You look thoroughly roasted.” Dj chuckled.
“I am indeed. Hey, I wonder, can you get high? Wait, of course you can’t, but maybe…”
“Well that took effect rather quickly.”
“Shush. This is genius. I bet I could convince one of the techs in parts and services to whip up a literal e-cig that delivers a minor code scramble to give you the same effect of smoking a joint. It wouldn’t be that far fetched. You down?” Cin asked.
“Oh, I am very much interested in that.” He nodded.
“Siiiick. We could get high together then~.” Cin hummed. “We can get zooted off the clock and forget the world.”
“Speaking of, are you off the clock right now?” He asked.
Cin paused and thought about it, then slowly pulled out their phone with an innocent expression while they pulled up the time card app. “I am now.” They said while tapping the clock out button.
“Only you.” He sighed.
“Whoopsies~. Now that that’s out of the way now though… would you perhaps be interested in… a jam session?” Cin asked cautiously. “I like to play when I’m high…”
“A jam session? With the after hours DJ? Oh I would be honoured~” DJ teased.
“Thought you said formalities were for suckers.” Cin mumbled with a light blush dusting their cheeks.
“They are.” He said.
“I am too high to even begin to comprehend whatever sneaky implications you got behind that. Scoot over nerd. Imma bring over the synth.”
DJ gently shifted over while Cin reached out to drag the nearest synth closer to them. It was a struggle because they refused to detach their butt from the couch while doing so, so it was a bit of a struggle to get it close enough for them to connect their laptop. Eventually they got it all sorted and had the synth close enough to the couch to play on, DJ having brought over a small drum pad to play on alongside them. Once everything was hooked up, Cin started to play a random track and let loose whatever musical vibe was inside their soul.
Talking became scarce from the moment music began to play. There was the occasional cuss when they slipped up on the keys and forgot which modifiers to use, but eventually everything smoothed out and the backstage became a blissful environment. DJ waited a few seconds to catch their vibe, and once he had a grip on it he began to lay down a simple beat that matched. Words were no longer needed now. Communicating through the music was more ideal, and the simplistic nature of sitting together feeling nothing but the bass and sound waves was something neither of them thought they needed, but now knew was absolutely necessary.
Transitioning into other songs was fairly easy to do despite Cin being rocked out of their mind. Their high kept on increasing, but they didn’t care too much and kept on playing. Every keystroke they made could be felt in their soul, and through half lidded eyes, they gave a weak glance at DJ. He was following along perfectly, and they huffed quietly with a small smile. It wasn’t often someone clicked well enough with them to just… talk with music. It lifted an unknown weight off of them, and they became even more vulnerable with him. This moment was one of the safest, most intimate moments they’ve ever experienced, and they craved nothing more than this unique feeling of closeness.
Admittedly though, the high became too strong for their own good. After a while, Cin had to put all the tracks back online and stop playing, allowing the music to just run normally on its own. DJ halted his playing when Cin flopped back into the couch, red, hazy eyes staring absently at the curtain across the room.
“Hey, you good?” He asked, gently sliding both the drum pad and the synth a little bit away.
“Kinda. I think clearing that whole bowl was a little much. I need a minute to chill, cause my head is very much in the clouds right now.” Cin huffed.
“Don’t green out on me Cin.” He chuckled. “As long as you’re feeling alright.”
“Oh trust me, I feel great~.” They reassured. “I’m pretty impressed though. How’d you click so well with my style…”
“Your vibe isn’t a hard one to catch.” He smiled.
“Funny, cause you’re the only one that’s been able to catch it.”
This intrigued him. How was it possible someone else couldn’t get on their wavelength? Or was it maybe they’d just never had someone to play with before. Either way, it felt good to be the only one to match up with them so well. He felt a sense of triumph, and briefly got caught up in that feeling. Before that thought took him away though he noticed Cin swaying, and leaning a little. He swore they were about to fall face first into the synth, so he gave them a little nudge to bring them back to reality.
“Hey there, don’t go smashing your face into the synth. That won’t be a lovely sounding chord.” He chuckled.
“Mmm fine. I’ll just smash into you then.” They mumbled.
Cin tipped over completely and leaned all their weight into him. Caught off guard, DJ’s face began to do that goofy little thing where it heated up outside of his control and began to glow. He was rigid for a moment, unsure of what in the hell to do with his hands as Cin gradually slid from leaning against his shoulder to straight up lying across his lap, fully zooted out of their mind.
“Wow… You’re warm. And quite… real feeling. Whoever made your casing is a tech god. They need a raise.” Cin rambled, getting comfy.
“I’ll… Take that as a good compliment.” DJ said quietly.
“You damn well better.” Cin stated, turning over to look up at him. “It’s every bit of a good complime- hold on…”
“What?”
“Your eyes… I can see under your glasses from here. Do you…?”
“Don’t ruin the visual. Your high ass might freak out.” He chuckled nervously, pushing his glasses in a little closer to hide his eyes.
“DJ you have four fucking arms. I’m very much locked into your visual. Let me see.” They insisted.
Stubbornly sitting themselves up, Cin sat upright in his lap and faced him head on. Because they insisted, he simply put his hands down to his side and let them get closer. If he had a heart rate, it would certainly be up real high. The kicking in of his cooling fans was enough of an indicator for that though. Slowly, Cin put one hand on his face to keep it aligned, then used their other hand to pluck his glasses from the bridge of his nose. They gasped gently, and DJ honestly couldn’t tell if that was a good or bad thing.
They met eye to eye -literally- for the first time. Their two eyes, locked with his four. Yes, four. Four black, LED eyes with tiny little blue pupils nervously darting around. The longer they looked, the more nervous he became, and eventually little spirals took over the standard pupil shape to show minor distress. This would have otherwise been hidden behind his shades, but not now.
“Oh wow. That’s so cool. I didn’t know you had four eyes. I wish I’d seen sooner.” Cin spoke softly.
“Oh. I… expected you to at least recoil.”
“God no. You gotta stop thinking I’m gonna lose my shit at you. Yes my shit is lost frequently, but I think it will be quite difficult for me to lose it specifically at you.” Cin huffed.
Before anything else could be said, a song that Cin really enjoyed came in on autoplay. They said something about really liking the way that song made them feel and practically shut down; like someone hit a power switch on them. It was like they were a full on bot themselves, releasing DJ’s face and simply collapsing down against him again while sitting neatly in his lap. They still had his glasses clutched in one hand, but had fully checked out with their eyes closed against him. He let out a mechanical sigh, deciding there was no reason to disturb them. The high had surely reached its peak by now, so there was no way he was going to get them to move for a while.
“You are a very unique one indeed…” He mumbled. “Odd, but unique. What the fuck have you done to my processor just by existing…”
He was baffled by this feeling that welled up inside his core. Whatever it was, it was new, and was still only caused by Cin, for Cin. He thought hard about it while they napped, resting his lower pair of hands across their back and legs without really thinking. Probably to keep them from falling off the couch again, but just because… Touch felt natural. They had considered him to feel real, so what harm was there in a little more contact than usual.
Say h e y to my fnaf self insert lmao. Gonna put all their info under the cut to save space~

Fun Facts
- Has several tattoos and piercings [willing to elaborate]
- Is ambidextrous
- Is a fucking menace and only wears socks around the Plex. Yes it's a safety hazard, no they don't care.
- Fave colour is purple
- Has multiple scars on legs for various reasons, most of them from them just being dumb
- Heavy ouid user. They frequently sneak out back for a hit between sets since it's frowned upon to do that on stage.
- Can also hold their liquor extremely well. Their bottle count usually hits 9 before they get tipsy.
- Is a night owl. This causes them to get locked in the Plex often though, due to negligence of time passage. This includes missing the escort out.
- Despite being the most outspoken meme lord in the staff, they're incredibly easy to fluster. The DJ has been the only one to do this though, so that ease falls only to him.
- They're actually chipped into the network of the Plex, hence that last cyborg comment. Under an experiment for boosted pay, they were integrated with tech at the back of their neck that essentially makes them an extension of the Plex. [will elaborate on if there's interest]
finally settled on a mid art style for when i want nothing to do with completely finishing a pic. anyway here's my s/i meeting djmm for the first time lmao
A/N: Will not lie. I cried a little while writing this lmao.
Description: After the show, they finally go backstage to talk about what just happened. What will come of it? They're too nervous to even think about it, so Cin hits a little weed to dampen the anxiety, and even gives DJ an accessory to do so himself. Both of them are a mess and bad with words. A little help is needed.

Nervousness set in immediately after the show ended for the night. While patrons were slowly escorted out, Cin and DJ finally detached from themselves in the most painfully awkward manner. Neither of them could bother to get close again for a moment. Instead, Cin awkwardly jabbed their thumb towards backstage and gestured for him to follow. They had to talk about what just happened now, before it sat too long in either of their minds and they decided to never speak of it again. An opportunity was presented to the both of them, and Cin was taking it first.
Once backstage, Cin reached into the pockets of their sweatpants and pulled out a little four inch stick. It was an ecig, and they tossed it at DJ. From the other pocket, they pulled a pack of joints out and a small torch lighter.
“That thing is the ecig I said I’d get made for you. I was… working on it myself while I was down and out at home. You should feel what it’s like to be high if you use it.” Cin explained.
“Oh wow, you built it yourself?” He asked.
“Yeah. I had a lot of time on my hands. Too much time honestly.” They chuckled. “I figured now would be a better time to give it to you, since I’m about to burn through one of these joints myself. I… won’t be able to calm down enough to have this conversation without being a little high. Thought you might feel the same.”
“Y’know, good idea. Let’s… take a second to wind down.” He nodded.
“Hoho boy do I ever agree with that.”
Cin immediately turned and made their way to the vent with the joint in their mouth. They stood on the same small amp again and lifted up the grating on the vent to just hang out inside of it and hope to god they still didn’t look like a flustered fool. With a long drag, they exhaled a small percentile of their worries as the high quickly came onto them, easing their beating heart. It couldn’t completely take the edge off of their nerves, but it was good enough.
Meanwhile, DJ took a shot at that little ecig Cin gave him. Assuming all he had to do was treat it like any other human would, he brought the tiny thing to his lips and instantly received a jolt. It worked pretty much exactly as Cin described it would when they first brought it up, and the longer he held it there, the more tingly he began to feel. The little jolt scrambled some of his code in a non harmful way that would sort itself out after a few hours, effectively impairing him to the same extent that weed would for any human. It was genius tech, and baffling that they built it in their house over a couple of weeks no less.
Eventually, DJ had to physically sit down. The feeling was new and disoriented him, so he occupied most of the couch while giving a thousand yard stare to the wall across the room. Cin on the other hand took a few extra minutes to have a second joint, their tolerance too high for just one to be enough. Once they felt they were able to keep themselves together and have a linear thought process, they pulled out of the vent and stepped down off of the amp, only to find DJ totally zonked out of his mind on the couch.
“Dude. How long did you hold it for?” They asked.
“... Ten seconds?”
Cin busted out laughing and took a seat next to him, tossing their lighter and tin on a small table next to the couch. “You may have overdone it. Have fun with this feeling.”
“I don’t think anything can combat the other thing I’m feeling right now.” He mumbled. “Though this ‘high’ is definitely unique nonetheless. I enjoy it.”
“Right back on topic eh… Shit. How do I even start?” Cin huffed.
“With music?”
Cin thought about it for a moment, and agreed that would be an ideal starting place. Sound other than silence would ease the atmosphere. From where they sat they connected their phone to the bluetooth speakers and put on a playlist. The first song to come on was by Daft Punk, and honestly the vibe that was set couldn’t be any sweeter. Cin tossed their phone onto the same little nearby table with their other stuff and sighed, ready to start talking.
“So… So about what happened while we were out there…” Cin started, their voice rather quiet.
“The closeness…”
“I liked it. I don’t know what made me encourage you to do that, but I liked it. I didn’t… overstep a boundary, did I?” They asked hesitantly.
“And here I thought I was the one overstepping. No, not at all.” He confirmed. “I… also liked it.”
“Oh. Oh good. Wow. Uh… I guess that wouldn’t make it weird if I said I wanted to be like that again, would it? Y’know… close to you…”
“We can. I mean, did either of us want to stop?” He spoke quietly, an arm already having made its way around their waist.
“So I have permission…” They huffed.
Instantly drawn in by his touch, Cin slowly maneuvered closer to him with the gentle encouragement he provided. Soon they ended up in his lap, back pressed against his chest while he kept one arm cautiously wrapped around their middle. They both remained wordless for a moment, listening to the music while blush flared up in violent shades of red on both their cheeks and his. Cin’s heart was beating so hard it was possible to feel even with the way they sat. He’d always wanted to feel it. For a moment they just listened to the music, completely unsure of what to say next. That same music luckily saved the conversation once again though, simply by making it a topic to talk on and keep that ball rolling.
“Is this song… Did you pick it on purpose?” He asked.
“I did, actually. I figured the song ‘Something About Us’ would be… appropriate.” They nodded.
“Now is that the weed talking, or do you mean that?” He questioned further, his grip on them tightening a little.
“Nope. It’s me talking. I may be a little fucked, but I’m still present.” Cin nodded. “Speaking of, how are you holding up? You’re feeling okay, right?”
“I am. A little hazy, but fine nonetheless. It feels like my sensors have been switched into overdrive though…”
“Yeaaah that happens. At least you can’t green out and ruin your first high like I did.” They chuckled.
“Ruin it? How could you ruin such a floaty feeling?” He asked.
“I uh… Went for a walk and couldn’t figure out where I was. I was so high that I got disoriented a mere two blocks away from where I was staying.” They admitted with a chuckle.
“Even before, you were dumb as hell huh?” DJ chuckled.
Both of them laughed, Cin happy to reminisce in their more goofy moments. When the laughter died down, they sat there in brief silence once again with nothing but the music to fill the space. Cin’s mind was in overdrive though, and they had one thought bouncing around in their head like crazy. Confess. Confess. Do it now and confess. Tell him! But how? They were too brittle and full of horrible jokes to come up with something romantic… but then again, with the way DJ was acting, why would they need to be? He clearly liked having them around despite their incessant cussing and over the top demeanor. Might as well stay on brand if they’re gonna say it, right?
“Hey. Uh, you know how I said I don’t care what pronouns you use with me, right?” Cin started awkwardly, turning sideways in his lap to look at him a little.
“Mhmm?”
“I actually have some new ones I’d like you to use with me. Only you, though.” They went on, snorting a little at how stupid it sounded in their head. “And, only if you want to use them, actually. These pronouns are uh… you/yours and you can call me… anytime.”
They both snorted and busted out in a fit of giggles again. Perhaps Cin was a little higher than they intended to be, but at least they got the message out. To their surprise, DJ turned them all the way around in his lap so that they straddled him and faced him head on, two of his hands now comfortably resting at their hips. Their hands were now forced to come and rest on his shoulders, nearly pressed chest to chest. There was no hiding the red hot blush that bloomed on their cheeks now.
“Is that a confession?” He asked, still unable to stop the weak laughter.
“Only if you want it to be. I don’t know how you feel but I think most people would consider it to be a little weird to be in love with an animatronic…” They muttered, looking down and to the side.
“Love. So it is a confession then.”
“... So what if it is? Sue me.” Cin said defiantly. “You offended or something?”
DJ laughed again and used a third hand to lift their chin back up to look at him. The gesture immediately worsened how flustered they were, especially with how close his face was now in proximity to theirs.
“The only thing I’m offended by right now is that you beat me to it!” He chuckled.
“P-pardon?”
“I’ve been considering telling you I’ve been head over heels for you for months. If you say I can call you anything, I’d like to call you mine. Personally, I don’t think it’s weird to be in love with an animatronic, because here I am, in love with a human.” He stated.
“Cyborg.”
“Shut the hell up.”
DJ brought his lips down onto theirs before they could say anymore stupid shit. It was definitely an effective way to shut someone up, that was for sure. At first, Cin was rigid, completely caught off guard and unsure of how to respond. Thankfully all it took was a few gentle gestures of encouragement to break them out of their frozen state. DJ’s hand that was once under their chin now held their cheek sweetly, thumb caressing their hot cheek. His other hands pulled gently on their hips until they were chest to chest, and he could finally feel the full force of their rapid heart beat. The rhythm was beautiful, and he wanted to hear more.
That was enough to ease Cin’s worries. With a deep sigh through their nose they leaned in and reciprocated the kiss, melding against him like it was always meant to be. Even now he felt so lifelike, his warm lips against theirs in complete bliss. Cin’s hands came up and around his neck, happy to pull themselves in and indulge in more of his sweet kisses. His glasses had fallen off by this point, lost in the cushions of the couch very much like the two of them were lost in each other.
There was a lot of touch. So much touch, specifically because DJ had never had the chance to feel something like this before. The curve of their waist, the arch of their back, their lips against his… even their heartbeat hammering against his chest. Even Cin was caught up in the desire for touch, having never experienced it before themselves. At least, not to this extent. Not to the extent of someone actually desiring them. Feeling wanted was nice. About as nice as how their fingers were caught up in his hair, nearly pulling it out of its bun.
Eventually they broke apart, both donning some still very red cheeks. DJ’s pupils had turned into little hearts, all four of them looking at Cin with both surprise and love. It was cute, but they were still too dumbfounded to form the correct words.
“So is that a yes to my confession or…”
“You are so dumb it’s comical.” DJ chuckled, pressing his forehead to theirs. “I’ve been unable to stop thinking about being with you for quite some time. Of course it’s a yes, idiot.”
“So… no. I’m sorry. Part of me… part of me still thinks this is a joke, or a glitch. I’m not one to be loved…”
All of DJ’s hands were on them now: two on each side of their hips, one at the center of their back, and one on their neck with his thumb still gently tracing their jawline. It was a painful statement to hear, not because it implied that he was lying to them, but because they must’ve been hurt by someone in their past so badly it made them think it could never be real. He’d have to change that. Those thoughts had no place occupying the mind of the one he loved, and he’d be sure to eradicate them as soon as possible.
“Loving you is all I’ve ever wanted to do. I’d never lie about that. I don’t know who lied to you before, but I sure as hell won’t be repeating that. By the blessing of my own damn sentience, you’ve done things to me; caused feelings I never thought I’d get to feel as an animatronic. Love is something I thought I’d never have the privilege of experiencing, yet here I am, feeling it so deeply for you. I am not joking, Cin. I seriously love you.”
A tear welled up in the corners of their eyes. Cin wasn’t one to crack easily, so they desperately held it there on their waterline. Sometimes, you can’t win against emotions though, and it fell cleanly down their cheek into DJ’s thumb.
“I’ve never heard the word ‘love’ directed at me so many times before. Damn. I… I can’t really doubt you anymore, can I?” Cin chuckled airily as DJ wiped away their tears. “Fuckin’ hell, that means I can say I love you too. I love you DJ. Holy shit do I ever love you.”
Cin smothered themselves into him, resting their head in the crook of his neck while they hugged him tightly. Both Cin and DJ could help but laugh with relief now, locked in a tight, emotion filled hug.
“This means I can finally call you beautiful without worrying too much. I can mean it when I say it, and not pass it off as a general compliment.” He hummed. “You’re mine. My beautiful, talented partner. Mine.”
“S-stop with the compliments…” Cin whined into his neck, cheeks still hot with embarrassment.
“Still can’t take a compliment?” He laughed. “Never change please. Never fucking change Cin. You are so damn cute~.”
There was a bit more groaning and whining, as Cin still didn’t know how to receive such genuine nice words. It was embarrassing to be called cute, sweet, and beautiful, because they played the hardass their whole life. They were completely melted down now though, and it would take a long time to get used to. They didn’t mind too much though… It was nice to be so vulnerable. Besides, DJ got a kick out of them being so easily flustered. He wouldn’t mind if it took them a while to get used to hearing words like that. He’d happily repeat himself over and over again until they believed him and were red in the face. Cin deserved to feel loved like this, and he was happy it was him that got to provide it.
Both of them dissolved into puddles of laughter, DJ pressing annoying little kisses all over them now that they had confessed. There was no need to hold back anymore. They were his to adore, just as he was theirs. There was something about them being together that just made sense.
